Readily Wasia Project's most ambitious track-- this thing is incredible. Complex varied instrumentation mixed into some insane other production and vocals. Not as enjoyable as Petals with its more moody vibe, but better constructed, Wasia Project continues an amazing 4-track run with this song.
I generally don't really vibe with Connor's singing tracks-- I personally don't feel like his voice is usually remarkable enough to cover songs like this. Personally, for me to really vibe with these, the production would either need to be more inventive (since most of his singing tracks have fairly standard beats for whatever genre they're in), or Connor would need to try to do more with his voice. But for now, he usually is just staying within a few notes of each other and it results in songs ... read more
Love stoop's music, but I do feel that this track feels bland in comparison to the rest of his discog. Doesn't end up going anywhere and personally I don't love the more rock-y sound even tho I appreciate him developing sonically.
I don't really like these yell-y types of songs but this is solid for what it is. Can def see how it's a hit.
This album is solid overall but feels a bit more forgettable than its predecessor, even though a large portion
of the tracks are actually better than that of the first one.
Tracks like Can't Give Up, Overnight and John Wick are just OK, but there's some real nice versatility through tracks like AMG (my favorite), Correct, Ruby, Tombstone and Trendsetter. The ones with other language features get less mileage for me overall as I think it doesn't quite work when it comes to lyrical rap. I think ... read more
Connor Price's verse is fine-- but I just can't stand the features tbh-- I appreciate the idea of having people rapping in different languages, to introduce people to rap around the globe, but the result is that I'm vibing to lyrical rap, and then halfway thru the song I stop being able to understand the lyrics. The best tracks on the Spin the Globe records are when the artist does the verse mainly in English, but then switches back and forth cleverly-- (Like Killa, or Bens) that's the best of ... read more
Instrumental is beautiful and I love the regular vocals but all the Souly Had stuff ruins it for me tbh-- dig overall.
Here's the thing; I think the verses are only OK, and singer-songwritery in a way that doesn't really appeal to me, but that chorus is magical. Can see why Pharrell made such a big deal out of it.
Beat's a banger, Armani's verse is a banger. Just wish Connor put more energy and time into varied vocals and flow. The biggest issue I have with Connor's stuff in the last year is that he's just not always trying as hard as he could-- when he tries hard, it's great usually.
Really nice rapping from Connor. Don't love the feature but really nice overall.
As someone who’s only really heard 21 on fairly lame features, I was not a big fan before tonight— but after hearing a full project, this was really solid. Great sonic development, and also opens really strong. Becomes a little samey at times , and 21’s flows become boring sometimes, but really cool overall.
Dude went from making a very flawed, (albeit enjoyable) album, to dropping 3 back-to-back, varied, amazing singles; and this one might be my favorite of the 3. From eclectic sounds blending with a pop feel, a hook that continuously one-ups itself each time, and much improved emotional lyricism, I continue to be extremely impressed by him and his growth, and really hope he changes his mind about making another album.
This song is so overhated man-- sure there are some bad lyrics but it's genuinely emotional and overall well done. Lukas's voice is grating at times but also carries a lot of good emotion thru it. It really doesn't read as especially fake deep to me-- maybe non descript but not fake. I really don't see how stuff like "LUKAS GRAHHAAMM" is that bad... Eh whatever.
My first "album" - made sort of as a joke but still proud of it. Hope you enjoy :)
Not putting a rating cuz I only heard the Christmas remix; I like a lot of the ideas on it but his vocal is mixed really poorly into the song and it tends to be very distracting. However the underlying music is pretty nice on it.
Really nice little album. Jesus, sometimes i.. is easily my favorite on the record, and while the rest is a little more inconsistent and can blend together, there are other standouts such as roses never clothe themselves & life i run to.
Track ratings:
Jesus, sometimes i.. - 87
more than everything - 80
in the cool of the day - 71 (vocals are a bit annoying)
have mercy on me - 72
roses never clothe themselves - 82
life i run to - 80
back to You - 77
