I enjoyed it. Has a couple of low points, but overall very well produced. I just think the lyrics could be better at times.
This entire thing gave me nothing but chills. I don’t normally listen to shoegaze or noise rock that often, but this just hit a special spot for me. There’s such an atmosphere about this that just traps you from beginning to end, and then it just left me wanting more from this near hour project. And I’m so surprised that this is technically “niche” because there’s such layers to the talent of Robin Callaway here that I truly hope they get their big break soon.
This is my best friend guys! I’m so proud of him for creating this project that is so unapologetically him and also, SO DAMN GOOD. It’s a big step up from his last album, The Weight of Her Shadow, in terms of both production and execution. The energy on this project is so amazing and what I truly like is how much the vocals have improved. On the previous album, it seemed like he was trying to sing outside of his range at times, but here that didn’t happen and the singing was ... read more
Production wise this album is absolutely fantastic, but lyrically it leaves a lot to be desired which isn’t usually the case with Peggy so I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t disappointed a bit with this. This project just isn’t as imaginative as what I know Peggy to make, and that doesn’t necessarily make this terrible because it isn’t, but it does fall a little below the bar of what I was expecting in a way.
This a step up from Lush and Retired from Sad in the sense that this project is much more raw and grittier sonically, but still able to hold the usual themes that Mitski is known for. With each project, it seems that her lyrics get progressively more poetic which I also really enjoy as well.
Sonically, lyrically, and conceptually, this album is absolutely incredible. Tyler is so imaginative in the way that he’s able to craft a concept like this and explore it in so many different avenues that still comes full circle for a singular general idea - love is hard and it’s hard to get over, no matter how bad the relationship itself might have been. Tyler excels at putting his own experiences and also ideas of love into this project to create a journey that has a concise ... read more
Honestly, this song isn’t nearly as bad as Going Shopping, don’t know what people are talking about.
This is honestly pretty consistent throughout so that’s a plus, and the beats are very good, but Amar333 drops the ball later on in terms of flow and delivery in my opinion. And that’s not to say that it makes it a bad project because it doesn’t, just something I noticed that does impact my overall impression of this project. Though for a debut album from someone who seems to be in high school, this is pretty darn good.
what did I just listen to guys
