The Weeknd was still extremely raw which leads to some of the songs sounding a bit strange and less polished like they did on House of Balloons, however, its still a great listen and quite fun.
One of the greatest hip hop artists of all time put Stars and Burn in the same album has HOODRAT and KING. The mixing on this project was awful, Kanye was rapping about bullshit sometimes, Ty Dolla Sign is not good enough to save this project.
More variation in the types of music that are on these tracks, but one thing still remains, Dave's excellent story telling ability. Dave should have been the rapper to be pushed internationally, not Cench.
Dave showcases to the world that he is an amazing story teller that is not afraid to tackle the political issues faced in London and the UK
When The Weeknd was recording this, he made the studio purposely look like the House of Balloons to channel the energy from the lyrics in that project into this one. And it clearly worked. This is some of his saddest work in a while, especially considering the most recent project before this one was Starboy, which completely burst him into the mainstream. A 6 song long EP addresses both Bella Hadid and Selena Gomez, who both clearly hurt him. However, we see the difference between the two ... read more
I'm in love with the song A Keeper for no apparent reason. Other than that, the rest of the songs were decent. Currents had a really odd beat, like why did he sample a bed frame creaking. We've seen the tree trunk you got down there bro don't worry. Ironically the best song on the album was the non dance song, Jimmy Cooks featuring 21 Savage, which nicely leads onto the next album, Her Loss.
For every good song on this album, there are two bad songs. That is the best way I can describe it. From an artist who has made bangers for the radio, bangers for the car, bangers for the party, every situation, this just wasn't it. So much mid filler for what. But the thing that really pissed me off was that random ass girl yapping in the middle of Calling for You. Who the fuck allowed that to go through because that genuinely ruined the whole song that was shaping up to be pretty good. ... read more
Whatever Future's voice is on Group Home needs to be locked up and never released again, shit was truly ass. Other than that, a decent mixtape from two of Atlanta's biggest trap artists. There aren't many explosive songs that are bangers, but there's also nothing that is truly offensive to the ears.
Julia Wolf has a really nice voice, Drake was the weakest link in this, Yeat performs well as always
As someone whos never listened to LISA or BLACKPINK this was actually really good
Country pop is not the way to go for Sabrina. I blame Jack Antonoff.
Juice was the only shining light on this track but fuck Lil Bibby for even allowing this to be made
Some songs were actually good and some songs were so bad that you don't understand how anyone allowed them to be released (cough cough $$$)
