There are hints of this fledgling growth throughout Good Intentions. Adjusting for expectations, this is his best album yet, one in which he makes half-hearted stabs at “maturity” and occasionally tries to be in on the joke.

NAV’s biggest problem is that he doesn’t provide anything new with his music other than another generic serving of NAV. He’s barely proved his worth as a rapper, producer, or entertainer, but demands we respect him nonetheless, constantly using his fame and fortune as a barometer of his own self-worth. He’s clearly more concerned with aesthetics over substance.
In so far as 'vibes' and 'moods' become more important in hip-hop, Nav captures the feeling of boredom exceptionally well.
This is the story of The Ugly Duckling, one of the dunces of rap who managed to get the average since his eponymous project.

To make an objective analysis on an artist that we don't really appreciate because he has what it takes to annoy me is an arduous task. Yet despite all the (often) deserved criticism he's received since the beginning of his career which turns out to be right, in my opinion it's important to point out that Nav has still had an impact more or less on the Rap/R&B that ... read more
This better be good. I know it is Nav... but he has been improving so much

Brown Boy is hilarious, this is definitely far less boring than his previous works so far

Nav has worked a ton on his flow. His flow used to be just pure horse shit, with forced sentence completion. He has worked a ton on making himself sound way better on tracks. I think he might finally be on par with his contemporaries rather than just falling insanely far behind in this category

He sounds like a robotic ... read more
Nav has finally attained 🐐 status by dropping yet another classic.

135K first week, suck it Antoine Fantoine!
Good Intentions, the follow up to Bad Habits, not in quality however as this is easily NAV's best album

Firstly the production is more or less the same as what you'd normally expect from a NAV album, moody trap beats, they sound pretty good for the most part but none of them are anything special, if you've heard a NAV beat once you've pretty much heard all of them. The features are middle of the road, some outdid themselves like Lil Durk, Future, Pop Smoke and Gunna , some underwhelmed me like ... read more

Okay... but why is this... somewhat listenable and WAY better than his last release? Maybe because it gives me Drain Gang vibes. I feel like his singing has become a lot more realized, maybe a little harmonious? These melodies are super sweet, and his delivery kinda pairs nicely with the futuristic mood. If Nav made a more cohesive, more memorable record along the lines of this, I would consider myself a fan of it! For now, I’m waiting to see where his sound takes him.
