Ultimately, Good Intentions is another tedious and personality-free NAV album, but the faint hints of development and help from better artists help make up for it.

Pitchfork

There are hints of this fledgling growth throughout Good Intentions. Adjusting for expectations, this is his best album yet, one in which he makes half-hearted stabs at “maturity” and occasionally tries to be in on the joke.

NAV’s biggest problem is that he doesn’t provide anything new with his music other than another generic serving of NAV. He’s barely proved his worth as a rapper, producer, or entertainer, but demands we respect him nonetheless, constantly using his fame and fortune as a barometer of his own self-worth. He’s clearly more concerned with aesthetics over substance.

In so far as 'vibes' and 'moods' become more important in hip-hop, Nav captures the feeling of boredom exceptionally well.

He sounds like a robotic ... read more

To make an objective analysis on an artist that we don't really appreciate because he has what it takes to annoy me is an arduous task. Yet despite all the (often) deserved criticism he's received since the beginning of his career which turns out to be right, in my opinion it's important to point out that Nav has still had an impact more or less on the Rap/R&B that ... read more

Next in Fantanos NOT GOODS we have NAV once again with Good Intentions. Similar to my thoughts on another album that I reviewed in this series, I've heard and reviewed Good Intentions already and after listening to it once more my opinions on it have not changed, so it's time for another lazy repost because I'm way too tired to write up a new one so here you go.
