IT'S A CASH GRAB HE'S LITERALLY TELLING YOU!

Taylor Swift - Midnights
NR

Rolling Stone giving this a perfect score and not for Renaissance (which now is on their best albums of all time while this isn't)... Some consistency would be nice

SOPHIE - SOPHIE
NR

The work of an unskilled person trying to recreate genius. Listen really closely and you can almost hear him think the more weird stuff he adds, the more ingenious a record he creates. This is really a Benny Long project presented to us with Sophie's face.

Ariana Grande - eternal sunshine
80

Watered down R&B and House (then again, what Ariana Grande album isn't a watered down version of whatever genre she's into?) Still, I put it up there with (maybe not exactly 'up there', but pretty close to) Sweetener.

Also: we finally got white people drill and I'd love to find out what everyone thinks of it. For me, yeah I think I'd rather have a cockroach claw my eardrum out. Most everything else is pretty good, though.

Edit: i think it sounds a lot more ... read more

Nicki Minaj - Pink Friday 2
62

Good album, but she takes herself too seriously to give us the pop euphoria and campness of the og Pink Friday. Nothing offensive, but there's also no standout songs so much as there are standout moments within and between songs. Still, the absence of a single bad song is a pretty big achievement considering Nicki's history and how many tracks are on this.

Miley Cyrus - Endless Summer Vacation
60

It's a (fairly) fun album if you're super into pop. Spare yourself from Muddy Feet and all its successors (save for Wildcard if you're a huge Miley Cyrus fan) - Wonder Woman, especially, takes itself way too seriously.

Davido - Timeless
74

Came for the vibes, and I got the vibes. Don't ask me about the lyrics, though.

Frank Ocean - Blonde

Did drugs and finally got this. Only took away 9 points because of Be Yourself.

Adele - 30
NR

Only Adele album I enjoy front-to-back

Madonna - Finally Enough Love: 50 Number Ones
NR

She said: "I'll show you 'washed up.'"

Baby Can I take you all the way, you sexy mxtherfxcker

Madonna - Madonna
100

It's a perfect album. Go fight with your neighbour.

LSD - LABRINTH, SIA & DIPLO PRESENT... LSD
81

Pure Pop Perfection is Perfect.

Lizzo - Special
NR

Not as smart as her debut (though I do believe the lines: 'If you're looking for the sign, I'm it / And I know you see me coming 'cause I'm thick,' are deserving of the Pulitzer Prize). Not as funny either. Everybody's Gay is pure pop euphoria. About Damn Time is also good.

Kim Petras - Slut Pop
52

There's something inherently unsatisfactory about an artistic product with no concept other than sticking to status quo. The production wasn't bad, just retrograde, and the lyrics are "sex for the sake of sex". The result is a very unintelligent, directionless and (shockingly) non-erotic EP.

"I always find it strange when criticism for music from celebrities is "imagine if someone else that wasn't a celebrity made this would you care?" No, we wouldn't. That doesn't mean the music is bad. In fact, the problem with the music industry is that we miss a lot of good music by unknown artists because we don't know them. A lot of artists have, after becoming famous, had their old music dredged up and receive positive appraisals, and if they were lucky that would translate into more sales for that music. No, we probably wouldn't care if an unknown released this because we wouldn't know it existed. Now, can you give us the actual review?"

"I know you know that women don't have the luxury to get tired of being mad because men never get tired of underpaying women, or of not hiring women in senior positions just because they want their board to only consist of men, or of forcefully having sex with women because they're married or just horny and a woman happened to walk past. You know all that, yet you still decided to write, in a review, "Do you think she ever gets tired of being so fucking angry all the time?" Nevermind that she has a few feel good or atleast non-angry songs (not even a fan of hers yet I know this), you just had to ask that, didn't you?"
