King Crimson - Beat
62

I thought this was a slightly below average at worst and a bit above average at best (exception being the first song). the best song on here was 1000% the first one. that song just sounds so ahead of its time it almost sounds like some song from the windmill scene. it's so good. everything else is okay. most of these tracks give a lot to be desired and some tracks are just boring like the last one. my literal reaction when I finished this was just me saying "eh". I didn't ... read more

this entire thing sounds like solace but 37 minutes. the beats on here are very simple and laid back but also very beautiful. very interesting album. the rapping also sounds very laid back but also full of emotion and style. pretty flippin cool beans.

favorite parts: all of them
least favorite parts: none of them

BjΓΆrk - Homogenic
84

this album didn't really click for me too much sadly but I did think that this album was great. her singing has gotta be some of the best singing I have ever heard.

favorite tracks: joga, unravel, 5 years, alarm call, pluto, all is full of love
least favorites: none of them

BjΓΆrk - Jóga

her vocals man god DAMN

Hashirat - A place to myself
73

it's overall a pretty interesting experience but I do feel like some of it goes on and on for too long. the first hour kept me engaged mostly because of the amount of attention to detail in every little sound and melody. the first hour is great. the second hour is cool and all with the drone and noise part but I feel like it goes on for so damn long that it made me start reconsidering if I wanted to keep listening to it. the drone shit was worth though since the second hour picks back with ... read more

Live - Mental Jewelry
75

pretty solid debut. the singing and funky ass basslines were the best things on this. especially the bassline on the first track. the first six songs are great but the album kinda just gets to where it sounds the same for the rest of it. not bad but it kinda loses its charm later on.

favorite tracks: pain lies on the riverside, operation spirit (the tyranny of tradition), the beauty of gray, brothers unaware, tired of "me", mirror song, you are the world
least favorite tracks: ... read more

Warning - Watching From a Distance
100

an absolutely crushing album. definitely one of the most beautiful metal related things I have ever listened to. maybe even music in general. this is phenomenal. also the vocals are the best part of this and they're fucking beautiful.

favorite tracks: watching from a distance, footprints, bridges, faces
least favorite tracks: echoes (it's still amazing but I don't think it's the best from this album)

King Crimson - In the Court of the Crimson King
90

an essential album for people who a new to prog rock. an absolute classic.

favorite tracks: 21st century schizoid man, I talk to the wind, epitaph, the court of the crimson king
least favorite tracks: moonchild (I still like it I just think it's a lil weaker than the other tracks)

Heaven Pierce Her - ULTRAKILL: VIOLENCE
100

as someone with 561 hours deep into ultrakill this is a certified go pro shoot coin that ricochets into bad guy moment.

in my opinion, this is easily the best layer in the game. hands down. the theming, level design, new enemies, it's just a chef's kiss. and the soundtrack elevates this layer from being great to a fucking masterpiece. the underlying sadness that these song show throughout the levels is just astonishing. the swans, gy!be, merzbow, and bull of heaven references are ... read more

King Crimson - Neal And Jack And Me / Two Hands
100

I haven't listened to two hands but neal and jack and me is amazing.

King Crimson - Discipline
85

pretty fun and catchy record. I like how this band usually makes their albums pretty different from each other. the band going from red which has masterpieces like fallen angel and starless to a new wave album with slight hints of prog is pretty interesting. now I do think that red is a better album and their past material is also better. but I do think this album is pretty great.

favorite tracks: elephant talk, frame by frame, matte kudasai, indiscipline
least favorite tracks: the sheltering ... read more

Today Is the Day - Sadness Will Prevail
80

this is like soundtracks for the blind but metal version. every song here is either really punchy and hard-hitting, or avant-garde and weird as hell. very interesting album. I didn't really think it needed to be over 2 hours for the most part. I feel like that's just generally pushing it for an album's length. cool album regardless.

favorite tracks: crooked, the nailing, invincible, sadness will prevail, myriad, control the media, never answer the phone, I live to see you ... read more

Death Grips - The Powers That B
78

this album is really cool but a lil too weird for me rn. maybe on second relisten I'd understand it a lil more. some really good songs here tho with some crazy ass beats and insane drumming from the GOAT zach hill. also, the way that the first half of this uses little bits of bjork vocals as a key component of the beats is insane.

favorite tracks: up my sleeves, billy not really, centuries of damn, on gp
least favorite tracks: have a sad cum bb, fuck me out, death grips 2.0

Geese - Trinidad

Jeff Buckley - Grace
100

this was absolutely amazing. I didn't really know too much of what I was getting into with this album so i was pleasantly surprised and amazed throughout this record. incredible singing and instrumentation. fantastic.

favorite tracks: mojo pin, grace, so real, hallelujah, lover you should've come over
least favorite tracks: corpus christi carol (it was still a great song but just not a track I'd be coming back too)

Black Sabbath - Paranoid
90

this album is just as good as it is important for an entire genre of music. the songs in this are legendary as hell. the vocal performances from Ozzy (RIP), the insane guitar work, the groovy bass work, and the fantasic drumming make a record that is super iconic and still sounds good today. again RIP OZZY.

favorite tracks: war pigs, paranoid, iron man, hand of doom, fairies wear boots
least favorite tracks: rat salad

Radiohead - Knives Out

cuttooth is one of my personal favorite radiohead songs why the flip is it not included in the tracklist? also I'm doing the favorite tracks stuff since I count this as an ep.

favorite tracks: all of them
least favorite tracks: none of them

Quadeca - Vanisher, Horizon Scraper
100

stupid ass rollout but this is probably contender for album of the year. every song flows into each other perfectly with this lush and gorgeous as hell production and instrumentation. and the features. GOD DAMN the features are so good. danny brown cooked like crazy on that verse on the great bakunawa and maruja (my goats) fucking KILLED AND MURDERED it on casper. I was actually so surprised when I saw that maruja were showing up on this. like I'm pretty damn sure my jaw dropped when I saw ... read more
