when did lil darkie start making great music? I've mostly heard some songs from this guy like dirty potty and rap music but this new album makes those songs look like crap. i'm going CRAZY is also the best track in here by a mile. that second half almost made me tear up a bit. this is great. genuinely great.
favorite tracks: liar, heaven, everything i love, i'm going CRAZY, ericka, firefly
least favorite tracks: guts, wake up, a song you cannot record, take the fall
this album sounds like if old aphex twin and new aphex twin had a baby. really good.
favorite tracks: limbo, hold tight, subterrane, leviathan sanctuary, so far away, underneath
least favorite tracks: none of them
who knew that over 10 minute songs with animals as the names could be such bangers.
favorite tracks: dogs, pigs (three different ones), sheep
least favorite tracks: both of the pigs on the wing tracks
an absolutely beautiful sendoff to an era. been getting to swans (mostly the most popular albums) since last year and every album I've heard so far was amazing. all of the swans albums that I have listened to so far have been 9.5/10s or higher. this new album from the band might be in the top 3 of this band's discography (along with to be kind and the glowing man). both of the songs on this album that exceed over 20 minutes (the healers and birthing) were absolutely breathtaking and ... read more
this was a really good debut ep. been following this band since early july last year and I have been WAITING for an ep or something. after 3 amazing single and a pretty long rollout and this ep was really good. this was definitely worth the wait and I felt satisfied after finishing it. looking forward to the future stuff this band does.
favorite tracks: iceland, five hundred, under the gaze, omaha beach
least favorite tracks: killing of the swallows
this is amazing. the former black midi members morgan simpson and kaidi akinnibi (he did saxophone for black midi) did amazing on this album. the other musicians did great on here as well. really great instrumental work and I really like the jazz and rock elements in here. saint was also the best track on here easily.
favorite tracks: soft as the day, saint, wish you well, minimalism 1, minimalism 2
least favorite tracks: time dilation
this was absolutely incredible and transcendent to listen to. every song felt ethereal to listen to. both cloud of forgetting and cloud of unknowing were heavenly sounding songs with catchy and groovy riffs along with awesome instrumentals. the world looks red/the world looks black was also really good. people like us was probably my least favorite song on the album but that doesn't mean it was bad. frankie m was really good with how immaculate the grooves were on it. when will I return ... read more
really fun and spacey album. filled to the brim with bangers. this album feels like you're in a spaceship in some really cheesy and obscure 70's space movie. not only do the space sounding elements sound amazing but the jazz-rock elements also sound amazing. I might check the other material from the band.
favorite tracks: master builder, a sprinkling of clouds, the isle of everywhere
least favorite tracks: magick mother invocation
when can we go back to when this song was playing on the radio and not that fuckass anxiety song
really good and jazzy prog rock. WAYYYYY too underrated for its own good. I like how some of the moments on this balance pretty symphonic sounding prog with a bit of weird touches (like with the chords and instrumentation). this should get some more love within prog in general. really good.
favorite tracks: I could never be a soldier, ship, lady lake
least favorite tracks: social embarrassment
really good but it kinda feels a little too long. still an overall really nice and cool album with talented instrumentals, good vocals, good production, and other things. will probably come back to this eventually in the future.
favorite tracks: the lamb lies down on broadway, cuckoo cocoon, in the cage, the chamber of 32 doors, anyway, the colony of slippermen, riding the scree
least favorite tracks: the ones that I mostly forgot about (it's not that I don't like them it's just ... read more
this is probably in the top 10 best songs I have ever heard. I have probably heard this song over 30 times probably that's how good it is. PEAK!!!!
pretty good for the most part. really catchy and fun album. I will need to relisten sometime soon but overall I liked it. tracks 6 to 8 were really good and they had really good moments. the reason I'm giving this an 8.5 is that I want to listen to it again eventually so I can understand the full scope and story for this album. instrumentals were really good.
favorite tracks: ccf (I'm gonna stay with you), the catastrophe (good luck with that, man), gethsemane, reality, planet ... read more
this might be one of the most demented things that I've heard in a long time. only a band like this could pull this shit off and do it amazingly. now I'm sad that there's no more sprain, but this band has INSANE potential. especially after dropping literal PEAK. now is it scummy I decided to listen to the leak since I was way too impatient to wait a day to listen to this? yeah. but it was worth it. best ear piercing hour of the year.

I have EXTREMELY high hopes for this album because of this.
