not only a fun as hell record but also a really nice sounding album as well. for the longest time I never really gave a shit about phish except for like one song (rift). but then i heard the divided sky on my mom's car playlist and I really liked it so I decided to hear what else this album had to offer. really jazzy and easy-going experience. amazing jam sessions after amazing jam sessions.

very depressing album not only sonically but also lyrically. really sad album. the beats sound like they're on the verge of a mental breakdown. I really like that this album samples shit from the fall and black midi. even though this is the first album from injury reserve that I've listened (I probably should've listened to their previous albums before this but whatever), this is amazing. R.I.P. Groggs btw.

wow. holy shit just wow. this shit is is so grand and insane that I felt a lil bit of anxiety and tension through some of the songs (mostly because of how long some of the were). gorgeous sounsing insturmentals with very unique vocals from the GOATED michael gira. cool ass album.
favorite tracks: lunacy, mother of the world, the seer, a piece of the sky, apostate
least favorite tracks: the wolf, the daughter brings the water
really really good shit. doesn't even sound like it was from 1998. and plus it has the funny House song.
favorite tracks: almost all of them
least favoritr tracks: excange, man next door, (exchange)
this album is such a different thing than the previous stuff on for the first time and ants from up there but it's really good. I'm a lil sad that the previous singer isn't in the band anymore but the new singers are really good and add a lot to the instrumentals of this album. beautiful songs with beautiful production.

favorite tracks: all of them

really good prog rock. really really good prog rock. roundabout and heart of the sunrise are classics. I also kinda like the shorter tracks including the fish. they're really charming and I like them enough even though they are my least favorites. cans and brahms sounds like I'm some mansion made entirely of marble while I'm eating caviar or whatever rich people eat. I might wanna relisten to this one day since I haven't heard this in some months but it's pretty ... read more
the production on this feels not only weird but raw. it feels unfinished and finished at the same time. it's like I'm listening to something or someone that is on the verge of a breakdown. absolutely eerie to listen to. I love how unique and well put these instrumentals are. the lyrics on here are also really deep on how they reflect this person's thought process while making this album. You want to was a really cool listen along with Rise! and Fools. Splitter had probably the ... read more
I can feel the beauty in this song coursing through my veins.
this is one of the weirdest releases of this year definitely. the instrumentation sounds cool and a lil scary. the drumming is amazing in this btw. kinda wish some of the songs were a bit longer but this is a pretty good album.
favorite tracks: penetrator, castrato raw (fullback), animal death already breathing, tear pusher, blackout, changer
least favorite tracks: pain fountain, ultra shade (beat my blood dog down), iron feet, sickle walk
one of the coolest albums that dropped this year. there are genuinely some moments that sound eargasmic. this is also a really sad but hopeful sounding album. the vocals do sound a bit off at times but the passion behind them can't be ignored. the instrumentation is the best part about this with all the synths, strings, piano, and even a saxophone. overall a gorgeous and nice sounding album.

absolutely beautiful prog. one thing I like about genesis so far are the different synth sounds. they're cool as hell. overall this was a really cool album and it was very fun to listen to. another thing is how impressive the instrumentation is. the guitars, flute, organ, synths, drums, piano, and the singing all flow together really well. and lastly I like how the guitar that's near the end of firth of fifth sounds like it's wailing.

these songs are special to me regarding how much stuff I've learned on guitar. literally one of the first songs that I learned to play on guitar was alpha rats nest. overall amazing album especially if you're into folk shit. and yes I first heard of this band because of a scene from moral orel that I saw on youtube.
favorite tracks: tallahassee, first few desperate hours, idylls of the king, no children, peacocks, old college try, oceanographer's choice, alpha rats nest.
