I haven't left a review on here for over a year and was looking for the right opportunity to get back. It's no surprise that Turnstile have been one of my favourite bands since I heard Step 2 Rhythm and Non-Stop Feeling like 10 years ago, and I absolutely adored the direction that they decided to go in with Glow On, which made me keen to see what would happen next. The pre-release singles from Never Enough got me interested, but didn't hook me quite as much as hearing the TLC EP ... read more
Even though I still revisit RTJ2 and RTJ4 more frequently, Run the Jewels never put out anything that is substandard and I believe that despite living as the middle child between my two favoured RTJ projects, Run the Jewels 3 should not have to exist in their collective shadows. Run the Jewels 3 is a product of the growing fear of where the future is taking us politically and socially and El-P's production perfectly matches the atmosphere.

She seamlessly sang about the pain and heartache of it all while still keeping so much optimism and dark tongue-in-cheek humour. Of course, the singles are more or less perfect, but there are also album tracks like Wake Up ... read more
I really wanted to like this, I really did. Unfortunately, while Declan McKenna tried to go for a quirkier and more offbeat sound on What Happened to the Beach, he missed far more often than he hit and there was way more filler than the usual quality output I'd expect from him. Too many songs fall flat due to poor song structure or production. It isn't until the second half of the record that things start to pick up, with The Phantom Buzz (Kick In) being the most palatable of tracks on the ... read more
