Tyler, The Creator - CHROMAKOPIA
85

chromakopia showcases tyler's maturity as an artist, having broken away from a lot of traditions with this album. in typical tyler fashion, he delivers a strong album. overall production was intricate and the features, while short, were pretty nice. my favs are thought i was dead, darling i, st chroma, like him, take your mask off

Nas - Illmatic
95

nas's debut album is one of his best. this is a classic album marked with nas's signature lyricism. my favs are it aint hard to tell, the world is yours, represent, ny state of mind

Madvillain - Madvillainy
95

every relisten makes this album better than the last time i heard it. DOOM's classic wordplay and lyricism over great madlib samples makes this an iconic record with heaps of fun tracks. my favs are all caps, fancy clown, figaro, great day

Joey Bada$$ - 1999
85

with boom bap production and masterful lyricism, this is one of the best mixtapes of the 2010s. joey and the features all deliver excellent performances. my fav tracks are waves, survival tactics, pennyroyal, snakes, righteous minds

Paris Texas - BOY ANONYMOUS
75

A good listen but a bit short. paris texas show that they have potential and this album has some of their best. however they have not quite defined their lane with this project yet. my favs are casino, heavy metal, force of habit

Michael Jackson - Off the Wall
90

super fun listen with a good variety of tracks. my favs are rock with you, off the wall, she's out of my life

¥$ - VULTURES 2
20

very very poor album, regardless of how many updates it had. vultures 2 has so many bad songs. that being said, i did enjoy a few tracks. my favs are field trip, promotion, river, and 530 would be here if kanye knew what he was supposed to be saying.

50

this isn't the same man that made the college dropout trilogy :(. vultures 1 is filled with forgettable songs that have no real meaning or sometimes effort put into the,. for kanye's creative genius, this is certainly the worst we've seen. my favs are back to me, do it, burn.

Anderson .Paak - Venice
60

honestly my expectations were rock bottom, but i do think that this album had some redeeming qualities. venice is messy, but i did enjoy a couple of songs. experimental and trying to venture into different lanes, a couple of which don't suit paak's style. very underrated, but this helped paak develop malibu. my favs are the city, might be, and miss right.

Sampha - Lahai
65

look i know that his album is highly regarded by some, but i haven't been able to fully enjoy the album. not really my cup of tea, but i did like a few songs here and there. my favs are jonathan l seagull, and only

Common - Be
90

the kanye produced album is a fun ride and allows common to exhibit his abilities to his best degree. there's a lot of super good tracks on here. my favs are be, go, chi-city, they say

Faye Webster - Atlanta Millionaires Club
75

The chill, dreamy and floaty atlanta millionaires club is a short but sweet listen. there's a couple songs that don't stand out too much, but the best ones are very noticeable. my favs are right side of my neck, hurts me too, kingston

Free Nationals - Free Nationals
70

the free nationals deliver great production and the features do their job quite well across the album. most of the tracks are fun and chill to listen to. admittedly, it isn't perfect and the quality is not maintained throughout the project's entirety. my favs are beauty and essex, on sight, gidget, time

A Tribe Called Quest - The Low End Theory
90

the low end theory is a surreal hip hop album with a great display of the tribe's rapping skills. a product of its time, the low end theory still sounds fantastic to this day. my favs are excursions, buggin out, jazz (we've got), vibes and stuff

Mos Def - Black on Both Sides
85

it's passionate, personal, and ambitious. mos def's black on both sides has super strong tracks that solidify mos def's name in the hip hop game. the production is overall of high quality and mos spits his ideas over the beats well. my favs are umi, ms fat booty, umi says, brooklyn, and mathematics

Wasia Project - Isotope
75

through this ep, wasia project are refining and improving their sound and style. this is a fun listen and the songs are overall strong. my favs are is this what love is and somebody come through

Baby Keem - The Melodic Blue (Deluxe)
75

rating album and deluxe. this album is a bit weird with some low lows, but the highs are high. baby keem was experimenting with this album and looking for what worked, and now i'm looking forward to seeing what he can do in the future. the deluxe tracks are overall quite good and add some new songs to his discography. my favs are family ties, vent, 16, lost souls (with brent faiyaz), and highway 95

Brent Faiyaz - WASTELAND
90

a couple of imperfect tracks here and there, but brent faiyaz does make this a surreal listening experience. the skits add another layer to this album. it is a good r&b album with some strong features and great vocal performances from brent himself. my favs are gravity, rolling stone, addictions, bad luck

Brent Faiyaz - Sonder Son
85

for his debut album, brent faiyaz delivers a good r&b album. the production is kinda samey throughout the project but there are a few standout tracks. it's got a few of his best tracks on here and is worth a listen. my favs are gang over luv, stay down, talk 2 u, so far gone

The Marías - Submarine
85

the marias serve a floaty indie dream pop soundscape on submarine. this album has been the best display of their production and performances thus far. my favs are echo, paranoia, love you anyway, if only.

Note: after a couple relistens, my favs have changed to paranoia, no one noticed, sierra, lejos de ti, real life
Rating changed from 82 to 86
