It's July as I'm writing this review because I forgot this site existed for a while.
Manic is absolutely one of the best albums to come out in the first half of 2020. I said it. (My music taste generally goes against what is popular here). If I had actually rated this at the begining of the year when it first came out, it'd be higher.
I absolutely adore this album, but I just don't feel myself wanting to go back to any of the tracks six months later. I still bop with all of them (except for "Look at Her Now" but anyways) when they come in shuffle. I just have no desire to intentionally go back to this album.
This album is like a fine wine, it gets better over time.
I loved it when it first came out in January, and I still find myself wanting to listen to it in July!

Once again, I'm going to be the unpopular opinion on Album of the Year! But I'm genuinely confused on if I heard the same album as everyone else. With the exception of Dumb Blonde (which was 2005 Gwen Stefani mixed with 2018 trends), the album was full of acoustic and jazzy ballads. This was a sound Lavigne previously explored a bit in previous B sides (Give You What You Want is the main one that comes to mind).

It's no secret Posner has been off the grid for a couple years now. Following the success of Grammy nominated, "I Took A Pill in Ibiza", the musician had a series of losses ranging from a break up with his girlfriend to losing his father to brain cancer (and his best friend to an overdose).
A real good kid is N O T an album made for success. It's not gonna be a radio friendly album. There are multiple songs that are under a minute, as well as songs that are over five minutes.
