Every song on here is literal perfection EXCEPT for Welcome To The Machine which is just fine imo, I‘m sorry
This deadbeat mf procrastinated and let his fans down so frequently he had to overcompensate like crazy and straight up dropped 30 fucking songs ๐๐๐
This album (not rly an album tho its just 30 random songs thrown together) resembles a college essay where you‘re just starting to write it only 1 hour before the deadline ends
That being said still a pretty good „album“ 7.5/10 disappointment of the year looking forward to another 4 years of nothing ๐ฅ
Not only has the theme of this album aged incredibly well over the years (it is in fact even more relevant now than ever), it is also accompanied and emphasized by amazing musical moments that offer some of Pink Floyds best solos, keys, hooks and pacings within the songs
This is in my opinion their best album
The highlights (aka the singles + Bed Chem, Juno and Don't Smile) are undeniably great but the rest doesnt really leave much of an impression unfortunately. So yeah this is kinda a mixed bag but it's still good because the good songs are REALLY good
This album has everything, from danceable bangers to heartfelt ballads to whatever horny mess Darling Nikki is.
From amazing guitar work and solos to impeccable singing and vocal performances to catchy synth beats to charismatic, memorable and even insightful lyrics, EVERYTHING.
And then after the first 8 songs which are already amazing, the album ends with fucking Purple Rain, how much more epic could you end an album? Yeah its not possible this is the pinnacle of an album closer and probably ... read more
First two songs are peak Bowie, rest is solid as well but not on par with the first two
This actually was one of the first albums I ever listened to (I never really listened to albums before that), I have always liked it but upon relistening I would say that it got even better.
This album definitely has the most daring and versatile production in Ari's discography to date. Most of it works for me but there are some moments where it unforunately doesnt.
I also think that this album has some of the best vocal performances Ari has to offer, not even in terms of high notes but ... read more
Her voice reminds me of Kylie Minogue and just like her music this is extremely catchy and danceable
But complementary to that this album also sounds sooo heavenly, stunning, ethereal, beautiful, god there are too many words you can describe this album with, and it also flows incredibly well
So its basically like a visit in a club but instead of dancing you are just floating in the air while feeling like you're on another planet
A great listening experience, I love shoegaze so it gains some plus points by default.
But I feel like sometimes it kinda gets lost within its overwhelming distortions and almost feels too crowded, in certain parts the vocals lack a little bit of depth for me as well.
But there are definitely far more moments that are beautiful, so I can look past that
This album is just so much fun to listen to. The production is incredible and the rapping is so in-your-face its almost like they were directly shouting in mine.
Sure there are some "corny" lines here and there but most of them work for me because they are delivered with so much confidence, wittiness and self awareness that it just comes across as goofing around and entertaining and not some awkward references just for the sake of it.
There are some songs that didnt quite work for me ... read more
Concorde is easily among the top 15 best songs of all time for me, it is ridiculous how amazing this song is
The rest of the album is pretty great too
Edit: I lied The Place Where He Inserted the Blade took Concordes place
Yes it is nerdy and cheesy, yes the lyrics can be a bit awkward, yes Rivers‘ singing can be a bit grating and awkward as well and its definitely an acquired taste, yes it is *Weezer*
But its still peak, just one banger after another with so many memorable moments like Brian Bells consistently great guitar playing, the drum intro and almost hypnotizing riff from Undone, the bass line in Only In Dreams, just the entirety of Say It Aint So and No One Else, Rivers vocals which surprisingly ... read more
How is it possible that most of these songs are longer than 7 minutes yet they feel only half as long while listening?
Also Staralfur might be the greatest song of all time idk
