a good amount of these songs are better than the original versions. the arrangements and transitions are killer

Still think the pacing is a little off, but musically this is a near flawless set of tracks. Really shows Beyoncé’s talent and versatility as a songwriter and singer, and established her as an ambitious artist not defined by genre. I still prefer some of her recent albums, but it makes sense this is still often regarded as her best
