As time goes on, this album is sadly growing off of me. The once nostalgic emotion that this album gave me is becoming a sort of cringe. Especially the lyrics on this record. It's obvious that Tyler was young, and his writing reflects that but holy are they edgy and obnoxious. Also, the drums on this record really got to me. They feel so flat and unimpactful. They cooked so hard with this one
One incredible song. One good song. Two alright songs. The problem I'm facing as I delve into more and more Midwest Emo is that not everything is going to amaze like it did when I first started my adventure in this genre. Sadly, this EP partially falls victim to that. Still, the first and third songs are pretty dang cool. Overall, it was decent.
Listening to Midwest Emo is starting to become a bit of an obsession for me. It reminds me a lot of how I felt in my small hometown. Growing up, everything had such an emotional impact on me, but at the same time I knew that nothing was really changing around me, making it feel like nothing mattered. My whole world revolved around this limbo I called home, and that's pretty much what this genre reminds me of.
