My ears tell me this album is being underappreciated. Tracks like "Life at Altitude", "At the Gamut" and "Terminal Clock" I feel in my damn bones. Carry on Caterina ❤️
Starts off super strong and then fizzles out a bit. Probably 2-3 too many songs but a fun listen to start the year.
Some interesting ideas here plagued by a lot of filler. Love that they're exploring some new sounds while also revisiting some places that made them so intriguing in the early 2000s. Favorites include "Church", "Daddy", "Trouble in Town", "Orphans", "Eko" and "Champion of the World".
Really catchy pop debut. Love Amber Bain's voice. Reminiscent a bit of Imogen Heap. Feel like it loses a little momentum in the 2nd half but will be going back to this again and again.
My goodness was this worth the wait. Luckily this dropped right before a cross-country flight. At least seven listens in, it just keeps getting better. "Sad Day" was instantly my favorite but so many cool moments throughout this album. For instance, love the distortion of her voice in "Home with You" and then the way it breaks free and soars as to a dramatic conclusion. Only song that's been a bit harder to get into for me is "Daybed".
