Michael Jackson - Thriller

An absolute musical essential, this was genuinely amazing. When we went on a family trip when I was just a kid, 'Thriller' used to come on the van's playlist, and I was very intrigued by that movie intro. I have always loved that song. But now that I have taken the time to listen to the whole project, I can confirm this is a masterpiece to me. It's been a very interesting project with great moments and excellent production. All the songs are good; there's nothing skippable in the overall album experience. The only skippable thing are the damn Spotify ads.

Chris Poland is truly one of the best guitarists I've ever heard. He has a distinctive sound, solos with incredibly fast phrasing, and perfect bends. I'd never heard a 20-minute song that felt so fast, well, actually, I'd never heard a song that long before. I really liked the album; it gets better from beginning to end as you listen to each song. I appreciate that there isn't any of the strange experimentation found in some other songs by other bands I've heard, where the song suddenly stops and strange sounds or instruments start playing simultaneously in a dissonant and nonsensical way.
