I don't understand the argument of this not being bold or ambitious. Everything about this album is perfect to me. The writing, the instrumentals, the pacing, the buildups, the structure, and the vocals. Everything. A remarkable album that I think is over-hated just because of it's main stream success.
I think it's very fun. Zero_one contains a couple of stinkers for sure, but I'm pretty impressed. Especially when compared to Rust.
Lack of direction and consistency for only 6 songs. The three singles are respectable. The other three are straight up unlistenable.
Japanese city pop is overrated. This album is not. Hilariously bad. Either boring bland radio pop or terrible experimentation flood this album.
Textbook definition of fun. The synth style of this album is very enjoyable and puts a smile on my face.
A step in the wrong direction. The only redeeming qualities are Pay the Man and the Beach Boy influences on a couple of the tracks.
An aquatic adventure that will transport you to life at sea. Amazing atmosphere and incredible concept
A fantastic and more creative approach from Foster The People. The lack of direction and tone hold this album back. However, its still a very underrated indie album from this era.
