Genuinely so much better than Imperial. The slow descent into the grimier, more Hardcore sound through the three acts is fucking genius, and the sound & production are just a big step up in general. Really solid!
A lot better than the average Trap record. Usually the genre suffers from it all sounding the same, but Imperial manages to add enough interesting stuff to make it a fun listen anyway. Apart from some personal preferences I found this a really strong breakthrough from Denzel.
Great production, but apart from that a bit of a nothingburger. The pacing is way too slow for my liking, especially in the latter half. Though the variation is really good, it still feels pretty boring compared to their previous records. And god, Nero Forte is so fucking ASS.
I'm sad they didn't continue the path Iowa went, but this is still a very solid record. It's pretty similar to their debut in many ways, just not nearly as innovative or unique. Kinda recycling the same ideas. I do like the variation of the calmer tracks in this album though.
I love this darker, grimier sound Slipknot explored on their follow-up record. The undeniable Death Metal influences are incredible, and it just feels so much less gimmicky and corny most of the time. Unlike self titled, Iowa really manages to keep its momentum all the way through the tracklist. Apart from the closer, though.
Just a really solid Nu Metal record. The industrial-leaning riffs are just amazing, definitely the standout of the record. The production is badass as well, some samples are so creative and work so damn well. Though the first half is so much better than the second, it still stays reasonably interesting until the end. Just a really good album in many ways.
Apart from the insanely heavy and abrasive sound, this record doesn't have all too much to offer. I really like what it does within Deathcore, it's just not varied at all, so it'll only be fun when I'm in the mood for it, to me. Still a great album.
SOUR walked so this one could could run. Let's hope you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love will fly then. GUTS improved on pretty much every part of Olivia's music, while still developing on her signature sound. Vampire is probably my favorite song of hers.
Very formulaic, but solid and enjoyable nonetheless. The production is pretty cool most of the time, and the vocals are great too. The lyricism does get very tiring after 3 songs about her ex, knowing there's probably gonna be 8 more. But all in all SOUR is a pretty decent debut.
Dare I say Vince's best album yet, and generally just one of the best Rap Rock albums I've heard yet. Great beats are met with catchy choruses, great lyrics and fun rapping. There's not a single miss on short 'n' sweet tracklist too.
Will this band ever drop a bad album? Converge's consistency and work ethic need to be fucking STUDIED. This album just continues their crazy streak of incredible records. Great production, some of the heaviest instrumentals out there, and brutal vocals and lyrics combine to form another badass modern Metalcore record.
Such a cute & diverse record. horsegiirL really stepped up her game for the debut!!! Production is amazing, and the range of genres is just so much fun, while still sounding like an album rather than a compilation!!
It's not toooo bad, just very run-of-the-mill, formulaic, and similar to every other modern alt-metal record. Jordan Fish came back with another record that sounds the exact same as the last.
At least we've got Amy's incredible vocals here, but apart from that it's a real snooze. Very reflective of the cover art, I guess.
First 4 songs are fucking generational, and the rest is really enjoyable too, even though they REALLY reheated Linkin Park's nachos on some songs. Amy's vocals are INCREDIBLE.
Getting vibes similar to Danny Brown's Quaranta. The chilled down beats, combined with Vince's great rapping and lyricism make this his strongest record to date, if you'd ask me. Had an amazing nap to this.
Yeah Right is a fucking modern classic, but the rest of the album doesn't even nearly match it. Though being solid on all fronts and having a TON of variety, Big Fish Theory will still be the album with Yeah Right on it to me. It could've been so much more if Vince leaned even more into the Sophie-produced, deconstructed, industrial side of Hip Hop.
It's nothing boundary-pushing, but Vince managed to make a really enjoyable debut nonetheless. The bass-centered production by No ID is just great, and the catchy hooks and incredible rapping make this a great album altogether.
A blend of genres unlike anything else. Venetian Snares have created a sound that's unheard of on Rossz Csillag Alatt Született, and it panned out really well. The production is simply amazing, and so is the sampling. Some songs sound a bit samey, but aside from that it's amazing.
Really solid, but not as memorable as their debut to be honest. Might be because the sound didn't change too much inbetween records. Still really solid in many ways!
Such a solid record in many ways. It's dynamism is met with great production, vocals, riffs and energy. Though not being really groundbreaking, Static Dress still managed to develop their own, unique sound on their debut.
