Maybe I'm ranking this way too high for its own good. But at the same time, I consider this a great album and one of my personal favorites from MF Doom's discography.
This album is a full realization of MF Doom's character. Combined with some killer beats and MF Doom's lyrics, it's impossible to not enjoy this album. There's just something about his voice in this album that's so hypnotic. Maybe it's because of how rough and ghastly it is. It's like an old school villain giving his all in ... read more
An album where the critics are much harsher than the users. Jesus. It's for good reason too, this album is pretty boring and bland. I can't find a track that I like.
I only wish that they make a track titled "American Football" so I can say that my favorite song is American Football on the album American Football by the band American Football.
Fav Tracks: Silhouettes, Every Wave to Ever Rise, Doom in Full Bloom, and Life Support.
An album that manages to keep me relaxed at all times. I really enjoyed everything about it, but it's nothing groundbreaking or too amazing.
Fav Tracks: Still Space, Glass Chattering, Ishiura, Variation III, Blink, Praying For Mother / Earth, Pt. 1, and Umi No Sunatsubu.
I finished listening to it after receiving the CD in the mail.
It's a great acoustic album filled with some really interesting vocals. In comparison to other LPs, this isn't one of Swans' greatest works of all time. But it is certainly not a bad album either by any means. It's quite a relaxing album. But it also has some eerie moments like the track The Nub. The vocal performance in this song is genuinely creepy especially with lyrics like "Floating, floating, I'm happy to be floating. ... read more
A pretty great album with some recognizable beats from the metal face villain himself. I wouldn't consider this a masterpiece in my book but I understand that in the eyes of others it is. It's a relatively influential hip-hop album that anyone can get into (even they aren't fond with the genre). It's also a good album to get into if you haven't listened to any of MF Doom's work (outside of MM.FOOD).

A pretty solid album but it feels less grandiose in a way. It's like the ending to a trilogy in a way.
Fav Tracks: Cloud of Unknowing, The World Looks Red, People Like Us, When Will I Return, The Glowing Man, and Finally Peace.
To Be Kind is pretty great in its own right. I wouldn't consider it perfect, but it is certainly a noteworthy album in Swans' discography post reunion. Not only did it help form a bit of a cult following for Swans, it also helped improve the sound from the previous albums. It's less intense compared to The Seer, but it's still a solid album with some great tracks.
Fav Tracks: Screen Shot, Just A Little Boy (For Chester Burnett), A Little God In My Hand, She Loves Us, Oxygen, and To Be Kind.
Wow. This is an incredible album. The intensity for each track left me completely exhausted (in a good way). It was like an experience in hell or some kind of fucked up reality that Gira has crafted. It's truly astounding and yet beautiful in its own way. My only nitpick is that there aren't that many tracks on here.
Fav Tracks: Lunacy, The Wolf, The Seer, The Seer Returns, 93 Ave. Blues, Song for a Warrior, Avatar, and Apostate.
A pretty great album and a good start into Swans' newer sound. It's also a great album to get into if you're starting out with Swans (at least, in my opinion).
Fav Tracks: No Words/Thoughts, Reeling The Liars In, Jim, You Fucking People Make Me Sick, and Eden Prison.
Swans' true magnum opus. An incredible album that's really hard to describe with words alone. But think of it as a fusion of Swans' past work mixed into one album. From eluding to the themes of human depravity like I Was a Prisoner in Your Skull, to the more catchy rhythmic beats of Volcano, this certainly captures everything Michael Gira set to accomplish before the 10 year hiatus/breakup. If there's any album you should listen to from Swans' past discography (and just in general), it should ... read more
An amazingly wonderful album that's almost like a story of a deranged killer who's so far detached from their normal self that they believe they're some kind of omnipotent god. Or as the title suggests, The Great Annihilator. It's much more intense than the previous album. Like it's a spiritual successor to Children of God.
Fav Tracks: In, I Am The Sun, She Lives!, Mother/Father, Blood Promise, Mind/Body/Light/Sound, Warm, Alcohol the Seed, Killing for Company, Mother's Milk, Telepathy, The ... read more
A pretty good continuation of the previous album. There's nothing I can really say other than go listen to it if you're interested or not.
Fav Tracks: Love of Life, The Golden Boy that Was Swallowed by the Sea, The Other Side of the World, Her, Amnesia, In the Eyes of Nature, and No Cure for the Lonely.
A generally great album that's the beginning of Swans' transition into a much more melodic sound. Plus the lyrics are really good compared to all the previous work. Another accessible album to listen to from early Swans.
Fav Tracks: Better Than You, Power And Sacrifice, Song for Dead Time, Will We Survive, Failure, Song for the Sun, Miracle of Love, and The Most Unfortunate Lie.
It's alright but there's nothing really special about it. Wish I could listen to it on Spotify but I'm pretty sure Michael Gira would never allow that to happen lol.
Fav Tracks: The River That Runs With Love That Won't Dry, Mona Lisa Mother Earth, See No More, and God Damn the Sun.
If there's any album you should listen to from Swans' early era (that's much more accessible than Filth and Cop), then Children of God is for you. It's an amazing album that fuses post-punk and neofolk very well. So well in fact that my most favorite tracks come from the more heartfelt lyrics like Real Love. It's like a continuation of Cop in a way, but it's much more interesting than Greed and Holy Money.
Fav Tracks: New Mind, In My Garden, Sex God Sex, Blood and Honey, Like a Drug (Sha La La ... read more
Another decent album from Swans' Discography but it isn't anything too spectacular.
Fav Tracks: A Hanging, A Screw, Money Is Flesh (#2), and Coward.
