I did not know about 070 Shake until a few weeks ago I read an article about some artists to look forward in 2020. I'm not the biggest listener of rap nor hip hop but I really enjoyed the sonority of Modus Vivendi. It's not the average rap sonotiry you hear on the radio everyday, the futuristic concept of the album revolving around spacious synths and some reverb guitars are on point. Very entertaining overall, the weakest point was, in my opinion, the lyrics which had nothing particulary ... read more

For the past few years, Pinegrove has been one of my favourite bands. Cadmium was the first track I heard, and it was an instant love. At the time I was in a relationship where we both knew that our days together were coming to an end. I went through a lot of ugly and bad stuff back then and Pinegrove's music helped me find some comfort. A band returning from a hiatus has always an inglorious task: there is a huge hype among the fans and there is almost a need to relive the old music that made us be charmed by that particular band. Rare is an album about self-love and self-empowerment, coming from an artist who has had its share of bad times. However, a work who had all the substract to become a compilation of anthems about growing stronger and find inner peace becomes at best, a blank attempt, fueled sometimes with destructive and confusing ideas.

There's nothing new with this LP, it's made of expectable pop songs, very formulaic, that grows increasingly desinteresting as you listen. Rare and Lose You to Love Me are in ... read more

Who can forget hearing Alt-J back at early 10’s and those first impressions, somewhere between a weird vibe yet a very entertaining flow. Alt-J is weird, there’s no denying that. They’re a combination of different genres resulting in a sonority of their own and when An Awesome Wave was released back in 2012 this was a completely new thing in the musical scene.

An Awesome Wave is the resulting of filtering different aspects of contemporary culture taken from movies, books and ... read more
