What a year for Big Thief honestly. I've been in a funk for the passed few days, and their music is exactly what I needed to escape from it. This one is in my opinion even more riveting than their first of the same year, although both are tremendous achievements. Each song is downright gorgeous comprising lush melodies and softly-spoken meticulously-written lyrics. Big Thief, I thank you.

Absolute standout: Not
I have no words.

This is nice. I started listening to it a couple of times but never took the time to listen to it entirely until now. The record is sweet yet melancholic, which corresponds to my favorite kind of music. It's not mind-blowing or extraordinary, but it's nice, quite nice.

Maybe I'm unimpressed due to the fact that I've been immensely astonished by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds and Angel Olsen today. Could be additionally because hip hop usually tends to sit less well with me. Whatever it is, it's incomparable with the other releases of the same date.

Is this another strong installment or is it just me who's being easily amazed today? Definitely the former. The whole record is beautifully produced and comprises a succession of skillfully elegant melodies and softly-sung thoughtful lyrics. It deserves the attention it's getting. Do yourself a favor and have a listen, or another.
