I tend to think this album is somewhat overrated, but not by much. Still a fantastic album, but it does not quite stack up with the absolute best the Beatles have to offer.
This is my favorite Beatles album! It helped me get into music in general, so I have a lot of appreciation for the album from the perspective too. As far as the album itself, all these songs still sound catchy and vibrant more than 50 years after its released. The sonic diversity on this is fantastic and it's really something to marvel at to this day.
Weakest LCD Soundsystem album by far, but still a good album with some solid grooves
This soundtrack, as I'm sure it does to many people, holds a special place of nostalgia for me.
This is a dark, moody listening experience, made more poignant by Abel's insane voice and creative production choices.
This is my favorite Fiona Apple album and probably in my top 5 albums ever. It's catchy as hell in addition to being remarkably well written. This record stands as Apple's most compelling batch of songs, and if you know anything about her music, that's saying a lot.
This album is the most bizarre masterpiece of all time. I genuinely think that this is a perfect album; there's no flaws. Every single weird, wacked out song choice that Ween make somehow works. Like, I do not fucking understand: How is this so good? It's this weird, intensely psychedelic underwater odyssey that is ceaselessly creative and immersive. The audacity of the band to put "The Blarney Store" right before "It's Gonna Be Alright" astounds me. Like, I go from laughing ... read more
DISCLAIMER: I AM NOT A LANA STAN
I've enjoyed some of her music in the past, and Lust for Life was pretty good. However, I've always found her to be somewhat lacking in lyrical depth, as well as in need of more interesting production. By this metric, Norman Fucking Rockwell! passes with absolutely flying colors. For anyone that did not really enjoy her past projects, please still give this album a listen.
Weird, experimental, vampiric... I honestly love this album. I can see why it's somewhat polarizing but still I think this is on par with Die Lit and has the potential to grow on me.
Best album of 2020
Edit: This album has grown on me even more; I think it accomplishes everything that it's trying to pretty much perfectly. The two chord structural composition of the album is limiting in some ways, but the variations throughout and top-notch, existential and reflective lyricism makes for a fantastic listen nonetheless.
