This is a pretty underrated Radiohead album. It's a little inconsistent, but there's a lot of fantastic tracks.
This album, specifically with the song "Good News", was my introduction to Mac's music. Even though I didn't have the same emotional connection to him as many other people I'm sure did, this album is crazy good. It's really beautiful and emotionally moving throughout. RIP Mac
Overall, I really enjoyed this album. Still didn't beat out Pop 2 for me, but there are really fantastic highlights all over this project.
This review would not be nearly as low if not for the skits. But yea, this is my obligatory negative review of this album. It's definitely bad... Judgmental Cunt is a bop though.
This is the catchiest collection of songs a person can listen to... and they're literally all on the same album. Barely Legal is my personal favorite Strokes song.
As you might guess from my pfp, Phil Elverum is my favorite song writer ever. So you probably won't be surprised to learn that this is my favorite album of his, as well as just my favorite album ever. I know, I know, it's kind of pretentious, but I don't care. The loose compositions of these tracks, the unique finger picking styles, the larger-than-life ... read more
I have a hard time expressing exactly how strongly I feel about this album. A friend of mine had played EARFQUAKE for me in the car a couple months prior. Though I initially dismissed the song as some weird gimmick, the brilliance manifested itself over time. I found myself returning time and time again to that song, such that I ultimately decided I had to hear the whole album.
When I first listened to Igor, I was at a pretty low point in my life, driving through the city as rain fell down ... read more
Album of the year contender for me; Charli does a great job of expressing the feeling of being trapped inside, wanting desperately to get out. It's nothing if not relatable, and stands as one of her most consistent bunches of songs so far.
Now that the follow-up to this album has come out, I can say this is my least favorite of the trilogy. Still has some fantastic highlights like Ghost!
This is probably the tightest concept album in the past 20 years of any genre. The straightforward and incredibly compelling storytelling that Kendrick engages in on this album really does feel like watching a movie.
The jazzy approach Kanye takes on Late Registration has aged remarkably well in my opinion. This record is genuinely so chill.
