Metallica - Load

"Load" does not justify it's length, and could have been quite good if shortened to 45 minutes. Unfortunately, this was also a problem for every subsequent Metallica release.

"where is my mind" and "gigantic" are very good, unfortunately the rest of the album is weaker. The production is awful, and while I think this was intentional, it makes some already well songs almost unlistenable.

Radiohead - OK Computer

It's okay, just probably the most over hyped thing ever. Sounds similar to early 90s REM, but doesn't do anything particularly interesting. Thom Yorke's vocals are grating.

David Bowie - Scary Monsters (And Super Creeps)

While not as good as his early 70s work, this is a welcome return to his earlier glam rock style. "Ashes to ashes" is a highlight.

The Smashing Pumpkins - Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness

Unfortunately, what could have been one of the best albums of all time was dragged down by the inclusion of too many songs that are good, but don't stand out enough on their own. "Bodies", "Love" and "Thirty Three" are highlights.
