Most of this album is boring. I found 6 tracks to be some level of interesting and only 3 of those actually made it into regular rotation. "all of me," "n.h.i.e," and "prove it" are actually pretty damn good, but nothing else really is. Listening to this album was the equivalent of shrugging my shoulders for 49 min.
Fav track: "prove it"
I liked 2 out of the 7 songs ( "ATTENTION" and "MANIPULATION"). It's not -bad- music by any means, but a whole album of very repetitive and formulaic songs leaves something to be desired. I can have fun listening to this album, but it's really only worth a background listen at best.
This is my favorite Sinatra compilation. As the title suggests, this compilation gathers many of his best love songs into one package. The listening experience is fairly balanced between more upbeat love songs heart-breakingly sad love songs. Each of these songs is a classic in its own right, so its hard to pick out any favorites, but "In The Wee Small Hours Of The Morning" and "Nice 'N' Easy - Alternate Take" stand out to me as worth hearing. The former stands out because ... read more
Do you like sexy music? Do you like synth-y disco-funk grooves? Do you think that balding men can sometimes be attractive? If you replied yes to these questions, then this is the album for you. Donny Benét does what he does best in "Infinite Desires," and thankfully is best is quite good. Benét uses classic synthesizers, both accoustic drums and drum machines, absolutely funky bass, and sensual vocals to transport you back to a time where all romance needed was some ... read more
I had the privileged of seeing KL in concert a week before this album dropped, which understandably built an incredible amount of hype for this album, and I was not disappointed. You Won't Go Before You're Supposed To is 10 straight tracks of sheer aggression blasted into your eardrums like distortion-cased bullets. Every drum hit, every chug, and every scream is perfectly placed to cause maximum destruction to your mind and body, whether listening at home or moshing in the pit. KL manages to ... read more
POST HUMAN: NeX GEn is an incredibly bombastic combination of borderline octane-core and early 2000s emo with aggressive hyperpop elements and highly emo lyrical content. It is jagged and cutting while simultaneously euphoric and energetic. I went into this album with only the expectation of getting some new bangers to add to my playlist, and on that front this album definitely delivered. The prevailing character of this album is arguably best seen in the contrasts in the song "n/A." ... read more
If you're looking for a solid introduction to what modern drum and bass entails, check this out. All the bases are covered here. You've got everything from Liquid DnB to Jump Up to filthy Rollers. Hospital Records rarely misses, and this compilation is a great example of that.
This was my third Yeat album, and I had expectations of something at least semi-solid, albeit nothing too crazy. The night it dropped I decided to take a sneak peek before turning in for the night. Cue Psycho CEO, and the instant I heard a snare straight from dubstep production, I knew this project was going to be interesting. I ended up listening to it twice while at work the next day, and I really dug it.
Is the album perfect? No. Are the features kinda mid? Yeah. But, are there some really ... read more
This is an album that I've been consistently listening to since 2018, and by now it is arguably my most favorite album of all time, full-stop.
I really, really enjoy when artists combine electronic elements (ie. synthesizers, drum machines, sub-bass) with other elements, and this album does it in such a masterfully complete way. Interwoven through this project are beautiful pianos, sometimes soothing, sometimes stirring strings and woodwinds, glassy synth tones, deep bass rumbles, and just ... read more
