it's always conflicting when the opener is released as a single but i think this leads pretty well if you consider it in that context. it definitely isn't as strong as the others, the bridge can be a little underwhelming maybe, however the ending has the same ethereal quality that beat up chanels has and the song is called dance so maybe the point is to be a strong opener that you don't think too hard about.

the song control kept coming on my autoplay when i'd have emo music on and it was the most grating shit ever but hearing it in context of the whole album (which i didn't even know it was on here so imagine my surprise) sounds a lot better

massive tears of avarel vibes but that might just be with how brilliant this and that is

a vulnerable emo-pop-punk project with lyricism that suggests the speaker is grappling with the memory of an unwanted past while trying to still have hope for a future which might come despite that . not a fan of the overall sound of this
