Daft Punk - Random Access Memories

something about instant crush scratches my brain and soul in the most perfect way.

not sure as to why i'd never given any daft punk project a listen before but i'm glad i did even if i'm twelve years too late to Random Access Memories.

deluxe tracks at the start is so unbelievably cunt.

coming back to re-review this almost two years after it's release and this project has really grown on me.
i think i will seperately review the deluxe reissue as the tracks are at the start and i think that shifts the project as a whole.

slayyyter is inspired by both y2k and hyperpop scenes, aesthetics and movements and if you were to add films like Drive and perhaps Blade Runner then you get this late-night, dark synth pop album that she has gracefully called STARFUCKER after she told an ... read more

PinkPantheress - Fancy That

this has been on repeat ever since it came out . perhaps one of my favourite pop projects of the year it's so fun and the chorus of 'tonight' specifically scratches some part of my brain .

Lovejoy - With Rob As My Witness

this band peaked with the release of their third EP: Wake Up & It's Over. they were going in a direction which seemed be impossible to derail as their music and sound was being refined with every release... and now there's this?

it's no secret that wilbur is some kind of alex turner wannabee which has then led to lyrics that teeter on being pretentious, however, their last two releases have been almost nonsensical with their lyrical content and the sound is just SO bland. ... read more

Ethel Cain - Nettles

i'm not sure where i'd begin in trying to describe this song or how it makes me feel

Make His Ribs Show - Make His Ribs Show

i liked some of these but whatever it devolved into i need to never hear again

Benson Boone - Mystical Magical

if i were mormon my whole life then i'd probably think sequins and backflips were the best thing ever too . this is still extremely mediocre and on the lower end of it at that .

liam mccay just releases anything bro

the lyrics remain to be as creepy as his breakthrough sign crushes motorist "i''ll be okay" and the instrumentals are just as copycat and lackluster as any other "slowcore" project . i'd be lying, once again, if i said that this genre of music didn't resonate deeply with me for whatever reason . this style of music is often criticised for not doing much but with the feeling that it encapsulates, that i feel myself ... read more

"i think the inconsistent and dare i say clunky vibe is intentional bc slayyyter said she wanted the album to sound like an ipod shuffle . whether that makes an enjoyable listen may depend on the person but i do think it gives a lot of context to what she was going for here"

"dude u should listen to her other stuff if u like this, especially starfucker then the deluxe tracks and then her run of singles post-sfer deluxe is for this new album . (no comma, beat up chanels, cannibalism, crank) . i'd def say her latest singles r a culmination of everything she's done before so i can't say whether u would like it more or not but it may be worth it anyways !!"

"@FreshLemonJuice If you are going to be this affected by what other people think of and have to say about something you like then it is worth asking whether lurking around the reviews is a good idea. You are free to enjoy whatever you wish much like any other person on this website but the way you are getting aggressive towards people in the replies of their reviews on multiple songs is unnecessary. You can hold the belief that real-life events have no bearing on music but not everyone shares that belief and that will affect their listening experience and ultimately create one that is very different to your own."

"@hushh i think that the song overall is really bland and repetitive and just nothing too special, though, it seems to be a matter of personal preference since a lot of other people have really enjoyed this ! i was kind of surprised looking at the ratings because i genuinely couldn't get into this. this doesn't sound much like their other works apart from sober and maybe normal people things, to me? but again, this might all be personal taste. gonna give their debut a listen when it comes out but i can't say i think it's sounding too promising. they seem to have gone in on a certain sound since the release of NPT which i can't say is a sound for me personally :)"
