Dimmu Borgir has always excelled at elevating the fusion of black and symphonic metal, and this album is no exception. In fact, it feels like a refined continuation of their recent work, seasoned with subtle nods to their earlier material. The production is superb, the sound is powerful, and the growls remain as impactful as ever.
This is a fantastic album featuring magnificent bass lines and an uplifting spirit. It definitely has some catchy tunes, with "Moon Rocks" and "Burning Down the House" standing out as prime examples.
I appreciate the technical brilliance and the overall appeal, but the growls and vocals don't work for me.
Ah yes the oficial debut of the Arctic Monkeys.. sometimes I hope they will return to this garage punk / rock in the near future. But I guess that’s too much to ask for. It’s my favorite album with great songs like: “The View from the Afternoon”, “Fake Tales of San Francisco”, “A Certain Romance” and “Still Take You Home”.
