1001 albums to hear before you don't have a afterfuture

Sometimes it makes for a good experience. it's a shame that that just happens a few times during one hour. I admire the vision and some of the execution, but few songs sound complete and not like demos. I like the sound it is going for. But it kind of stops at that, it doesn't achieve greatness at what it's trying to do. Making a futuristic-esque hip hop concept album.

So surprised this wasn't too of a pop rock album and more like a spacious ambient folk album with rock instrumentations.
I already knew Big Star's hit song and wasn't expecting them to have this interesting sounds and arrangements up their sleeves.
It feels so spacious and roams, dark at times clearly felt on the song Holocaust.
They've mainly got quick songs and it didn't feel like they we're ... read more

Tripping balls
finesse at utmost level
The use of space and stereo in this is amazing.
It just doesn't click at few times. I'm missing that feeling of floating from this, which is why i won't give it a 5, but it pretty much is.
the juxtaposition of harsh sounds and delicate ones is brilliant. And the passages from a song to another are very creative. Whimsical and baroque in a way, makes me remember Black Country, New Road. Spacious and orquestral
The recording on this is amazing. I love hearing the little details of the saxophone playing, because it reminds me a lot of what was it like to play saxophone (yeah im an music academy kid, but that academy wasn't too professional, just for when i was in high school)
The little sounds of saliva on the saxophone ahah it's soo relatable.
Fun throughout.

Boring. If i heard this when it released, i think i wouldn't be saying that this fatboy slim guy would make a banger of an album past this. The next album of his, which i've already come across throughout the 1001, is far more interesting production wise. Well everyone needs to start somewhere.

Well it's swell, isn't that how they used to say it back in the day?
Loretta Lynn, never heard of her, and feel like I didn't need to.
It's kind of pleasant in the ears, but it's just that, nothing much going on. Just chilling

I wish this wasn't bloated with too sparce songs
When it hits it is amazing, but the length of it should've been smaller.
It did surprise me to rediscover a lot of the bangers that played on part of my childhood via my dad.
They really have gotten much better coming up with a cohesive album, but this is a wonderful debut with unique ideas.

This must be the most recent album to be in this list and i don't understand why this. Not saying that this is bad, it isn't and I already liked it before, but i don't think it has much relevance compared to other more powerful and inventive albums of that year.. i guess. But elucidate me if needed

Chill, good grooves, good afternoon watching the sunset vibes, nothing too flamboyant, natural stylishness.
How to ruin a song with your insanity about using autotune thats not even in tune for what your bandmates are playing.
What the actual freakiness. Never heard something like this. It's quite a hard feat to pull and at the same time it hit so hard. Great, first time hearing Lip critic. I'll check him out for sure
Agora percebo porque é que estes anos todos recorreu ao uso de autotune. O mano tem uma voz horrível ðŸ˜

I feel like this is the Tribe called quest from the 2 thousands. Just some guys having fun trying out a new sound with difficult to catch inspirations.

I feel like this should not sound this good. It almost sounds bad and quirky. I don't know how they do it but it ends up hitting

Boring if you're not paying attention to the lyrics, but when you're paying attention to the lyrics, it's kind of the same.. boring.
Oh no he said the n word, cancel him. Oh but it is a satire, let him be. Oh but he is too comfortable saying it, cancel him. Oh but he has done toy story and monsters inc., let him be.
Well it's an average satirical album from the 70s that I'd prefer not ... read more

In love with this sound. Great greeat landscapes and heartfelt songwriting.
ma guy called samba and does nothing aproximate to samba, i'll call him out for lying. -1 point +3 for the title
+83 for creative production and great features pushing his R&B sound forward.
This sent me to the moon faster than Artemis is achieving to do. HA take it NASA
Swan song is similar to a track by frank ocean but we'll let it pass.
'maybe i should start an only fans and show some feet' was not something i was expecting to hear on this album.
All the juice was already on the singles, nothing much added, just really spaced out psychedelic soul which is also the problem with other Thundercat albums.
Worth mentioning that the singles we're really strong, so they carry pretty much all of it, with fun and danceable pop tunes full of great features from already established artists. So glad hearing some ... read more
