Welcome to the first series on my profile, where I will be going through and reviewing each of my grandfathers records! We will start by trudging through his supposed ‘Throwaway’ albums, to see if we can find any hidden gems in the apparent junk. Hopefully, if I get through all of these, I will then move onto his main collection. Im super excited to be doing this and hopefully find some albums ... read more
Absolutely amazing song. Seeing it live when they opened for BCNR was beautiful. 11/10, these guys are gonna be a big deal.
100th Rating Special: Illinois by Sufjan Stevens
Illinois is a very special album to me, being my first introduction to Sufjan who is very quickly becoming one of my favorites.
I first heard Illinois nearly a year and a half ago, just as I was really starting to get into music, and as those first chords of “Concerning the UFO Sighting” I knew I would love it. Since that day I have listened to the album maybe 10 times, not alot, but the whole thing is such a journey through music ... read more
I cant believe they wrote a song about my favourite African antelope!!
I think this might be my favourite album to come out of this year so far (Or at least one of them) and potentially the best so far from this band. But Here We Are is an emotional journey that sets a light of the band's grief over the past year. Such a grief has allowed them to write what might be considered their magnum opus in years to come. A blend of lush, heavy and at times depressing soundscapes accompanied by lyrics with deeper meaning result in a both emotional but beautiful listen ... read more
Another banger from Muchi, good collab with Overpade too. Although pretty simple, its very laid back and a nice vibe.
hmmm… Id be lying if I didn’t say I was a little disappointed. Especially as it’s something I have been waiting for a long time. While Cracker Island does its highlights, the majority of the songs just do hit that bar. Although I think that the title track is extremely good, but most others leave me cringing at the lyrics or upset with their horrible mixes. It feels put together very tackily and the cover art does not with this either. Unfortunately, Cracker Island is an ... read more
One of the better songs this band has released so far, and I love the new direction they are taking. However. There is still alot left to be desired, for example the choruses are not loud enough. The song would be improved greatly if there was an increase in volume there. Although, I do like the guitar post chorus alot and the spoken word bridge is pretty cool, reminds me of something Isaac Wood would have written for For The First Time. So while the song could be better, there is a glimmer of ... read more
A pretty good album, but with a fairly mixed quality of songs, a few of are not up to the best standard. However its tracks towards the end of the album that keep this score from being lower. Tracks such as ‘Desole’ which must be one of the best to ever come from this band as well as ‘Momentary Bliss’ which is just such a fun track, with some stellar contributions from slowthai. So while it isnt perfect, the intrumentals do mostly hold up throughout and there are some ... read more
Let me put it straight. I really loved this album. The emotion conveyed here along with the stellar instrumentation really makes for an amazing album experience. And while I have no clue what he is singing about, I do not need to, the beauty of his voice itself is enough. An amazing listen, will be bumping all year. It really hit home.
89/100
Favourite Tracks: After The Magic, Insomnia, Scetchbook, Parade, Polaris, Sound Inside Me Waves Inside You.
Least Favourite Track: We Shine At Night
really enjoyable little ep, very much into their sound and if the production level was increased a little, we might have something special here. I actually enjoyed it quite a bit.

Nice little slowcore ep, showing a lot of room for improvement which is exciting!
