I mean, something just isn't working here... Alex's vocals here are a stretch, on top of the instrumental lacking any kind of energy
2 more solid tracks from Blue Rev. Belinda Says is great, Very Online Guy is fun and catchy but the overload of effects, specifically on the vocals, are a little distracting.
The instrumentals really didn't do much for me. Generally this is a solid amalgamation of many pop styles, but never feels all that exciting. Despite this, Rina's vocals are fantastic and make this worth a listen.
Every song is always bursting at the seams with possibility. This is an album of sonic experiments, but those experiments don't obscure the songs at the core. Great vocal performances, forward thinking production, an all around exciting project.
Sometimes exhilarating, sometimes a little drab, but Preoccupations still continue to nail their sound of moody, dark post-punk.
Kind of ashamed I never really dove into Björks discography until now. The beauty here is astounding. The production is detailed and organic, Björks vocal range is captivating. Absolutely gorgeous music.
This was the first Panda Bear song I ever heard, and it's probably the only Panda Bear song I still listen to
Smooth, silky, dreamy. Really pleasant album, with a couple of slow(er) moments that still don't drag down the vibe.
I started writing a fucking essay about this album but had to stop myself because I do not want to devote any more brain power to this album or Matt Bellamy
To me, it feels like the band lost alot of personality and magic post-Swoon. And while this album has a bit more to offer and has a few interesting moments, it still feels like an overproduced, sterile mess of ideas. No physical thrills to be had.
There's a few tracks I have no desire to revisit on their own, but moments like Intentions, Bicstan, Dance Forever, and Tincture are amazing wonky bangers among others that make this a worthwhile listen
sometimes the vibes are there, sometimes Panda Bear makes me want to scream
