Here we are. A world where drake had a better album than Peggy.
Here I think we see jpegmafia reach a little far. His production is unique and experimental just as the title would insinuate. However it seems he has simply reached too high, with the blaring almost dubstep type beats drown out his lyrics. Which some songs would have been great considering some of the trash lyrics he’s had, especially on the 1st amendment. Which has some disgusting lyricism that frankly completely turned me ... read more
Feels like an album of teasers and demos. Production is eh, mixing is weird, ye almost sounds drowned out sometimes. I guess it’s better than the other stuff he’s released in recent years. But nothing that even comes close to touching anything else before it
45- —-> 60
It grew on me a bit, the first third of the album and All The Love carries it.
You know I like an album when the only reason I take away points is simply because the features aren’t as good as Billy woods himself
Some pretty instrumentation
Personally not a fan of the opera - esque vocals but it wasn’t bad
Not a huge fan of the drum less beats
Roc has bars tho, some of which reminds of MF DOOM rhyme schemes
I appreciate the production
Whoever showed asap rocky how to implement the deep slowed down voice should be incarcerated because why does almost every track have that somewhere in it
Also some of the worst features I’ve heard tbh
Solid album
A little too long for me I grew a little tired of the sound around the last third.
on par with sunbather for sure. this album has deafheaven at full power and wow its just so mindblowing. you get dirty riffs, and beautiful passages throughout. such a banger.
The Alchemist production remains to be entrancing and a great accent to the album, however some of the flows and verses don't do it for me. still solid and will come back to some of these songs.
Her voice is still angelic. Her playing is magnificent. It’s just too slow and methodical for my taste
