When this album first started, my initial thought was "diet brat" but the longer it goes on, it shows you that it definitely has the Kim Petras signature all over it. There's some real good production and it seems this record has been in production for a while and it shows. That being said the reception of this is interesting to me. Actually better than I expected but this is another full length album where the tracklist is extremely inconsistent. Great lead singles and then diminishing returns with every next track. Also what's with these insanely silly samples. First Le Sserafim now them, eh. Who's agreeing to these decisions. Every big release this year is hiding something real cringe lately
Unfortunately, this is still her weakest project. I cannot fathom why 15 minutes is still not on this album. Instead we got more similar sounding tracks to diminishing returns. Free is alright and I appreciate the theme extension. The rest is a snoozefest. It's a shame, I still like this album but it's just not that impressive after the last one.
Love Controller is a great banger but this really lacks personality. This side B project even more so than the original albums sounds like Demi trying to imitate other artists and putting very little personal touch into that. It's not a bad record though. I enjoyed some of this more than side A. I like the house/club music direction for her more than the pop punk experiments she was doing before this. I guess we need to see where she goes from here.
I actually like these more than most songs from Melt. Oh well, I tend to love the b-sides from The Marias as well. It's a great little project with a very nice vibe. I feel like these songs are a little more whimsical than Maria's full LP and her aesthetic remain stellar
