i like that it tries to be something different but damn does it fail horribly at points
i think this would've been 10000x better if Ryan Ross was the vocalist and not Brendon
such weird production with cool ideas, just wish it was executed better
fav tracks: I Write Sins Not Tradgedies, Build God, Then We'll Talk
least fav: Nails for Breakfast, Tacks for Snacks, I Constantly Thank God for Esteban
on relisten i think this is one of my favourite albums, even if there are a few misses
this is an album that could never be done again, its so unique and i havent heard another record come close to what these guys did
i love chinos voice as well as rob crows, they bring so much to an already great sound
also the cover for this record is incredible
love the instrumental and ambient tracks too
Blvd Nights is one of my favourite songs ever
fav tracks: Ever (Foreign Flag), Your Skull Is Red, ... read more
enjoyable listen all the way through
some slower parts that i tune out every once in a while, but no bad tracks here
good record
fav tracks: SKINNY, CHIHIRO
least fav: LUNCH, BITTERSUITE
worse than the mixtape somehow
so much gross and surface level lyrics on this one, but the great production almost makes up for it
vocals are also annoying at times (especially on 80's Films)
okay record, glad to see he stepped it up with his newest record
fav tracks: He Is The Same, Guillotine, The Good in Me
least fav: Weight of the World, Fashion, 80's Films
60 --> 67 (6/2/2025)
enjoyable listen, cool ideas and unique production
lyrics get a bit meh at times and the creativity reaches a point where it is way too distracting
overall great record, glad his later stuff is just as good
fav tracks: An Immigrant, Carry Your Throne, Luxury, Jungle, Munny Right
least fav: Human, Ooh
77 --> 82 (6/2/2025) New Jon Bellion album hype has me relistening to all of his stuff, and i forgot how much this album means to me. practically grew up with it, and its still just as good ... read more
one of my favs and what i think is Deftones' 2nd best effort
every track is great, but only 1 pales in comparison
very very enjoyable listen
fav tracks: Entombed, Rosemary, What Happened to You?, Swerve City, Gauze
least fav: none
pretty incredible record, enjoyable listen all the way through
great tracks, not a dull moment anywhere
some tracks definitely stand out more than others
fav tracks: Foreward, See You Again, Pothole, 911 / Mr. Lonely, I Ain't Got Time
least fav: none
i think this is the bands best effort, everything else after this slowly differs from this sound unfortunately
some slower moments that arent as memorable as the highlights of this record
pretty good album, wish they kept this sound going with their later stuff
fav tracks: Afraid, Sweater Weather, W.D.Y.W.F.M, Female Robbery
least fav: Everybody's Watching Me (Uh Oh), Flawless
some sluggish moments but like wiped out the highs are extremely high
here it seems this band almost completely abandons the appeal of their debut and is now more pop centric, a lot of this would be some good background noise
pretty decent record, this isn't available on spotify for some reason, only the deluxe(?) version (which has better tracks)
fav tracks: Blue, You Get Me So High, Softcore
least fav: Void, Scary Love
a lot of low level boring mediocre sludge on this album
but the highs are HIGH
cant tell some tracks apart from others at times
its decent but worse than the debut
fav tracks: Wiped Out!, The Beach, R.I.P 2 My Youth
least fav: Single, Baby Came Home 2 / Valentines, Greetings from Califournia
pretty good album with a few bangers
a lot of this felt a little sluggish and while i may not listen to stuff like this i could still appreciate the effort put into the story of this album
no bad tracks, but nothing really blows me away (except King Park)
fav tracks: King Park, Harder Harmonies
least fav: a Poem, I See Everything, You and i in Unison
a lot of stinkers but some bangers
reminds me of AJR unfortunately
shame to see patd like this
fav tracks: King of the Clouds, Say Amen (Saturday Night), One of the Drunks
least fav: High Hopes, Roaring 20s, Old Fashioned
pretty uninteresting
couldnt invest in any of these tracks but none of them are really awful
1 pretty great song
fav tracks: Pierce The Veil
least fav: Color Your World, Roots Beneath Ideals
a classic in my books. this album means a whole lot to me
wish it was longer, but for what it is its incredible
fav tracks: all
least fav: none
82 --> 87 (8/13/2025)
the lows on this record are overshadowed by its highs
being a deftones fan, i like this more for the shoegazey stuff and less for the metalcore but still appreciate the sound
great metal record i hope they release more music soon
fav tracks: Is It Really You?, Two Way Mirror, Agressive Evolution, New Faces In The Dark, A Sad Cartoon, A Sad Cartoon (Reprise)
least fav: Red Room
75 --> 80 (4/9/2025)
pretty enjoyable listen, gets a bit boring at times
vocals aren't the best and it rlly shows at certain points
cool ideas, cool project
fav tracks: Forget, At My Heels
least fav: Yellow Balloon, For Now, Castles In The Snow
haven't listened all the way through in a while and i've begun to appreciate PTVs music a lot more
tracks 6 and 7 really drag this record down, and it somewhat manages to get its footing back afterwards
remove those two tracks and this album is a 90+
fav tracks: Bulls In The Bronx, Hell Above, Match Into Water, Stained Glass Eyes and Colorful Tears
least fav: Props & Mayhem, Tangled In The Great Escape
83 --> 85 (3/9/2025)
more like boring after sex amiright

fav tracks: What Would You Do To Get Ahead(line)?, Bittersweet Teeth, True Colors, Upside Down, Wind Back
least fav: Sierra Echo X-Ray, Where The Wind Blows, Strawberry Sorbet

New National Anthem is a low tier ptv song unfortunately, so this album isnt 100
fav tracks: all
least fav: none
87 --> 92
92 --> 94
94 --> 96 (12/19/2024)
96 --> 98 (1/29/2025)
