A dreamy indie groove through Slaughter Beach. Full of Ewald's excellent writing and some of my personal favorite Slaughter Beach, Dog tracks. Definitely my top album from SBD.
MCP's best outing with 5 excellent tracks each more memorable than the last
A consistently solid EP with Laughing Makes It Worse being a stand out entry.
Wasn't as instant a vibe for me as their past outings, but once it hit it absolutely hit. Easily Hot Mulligans best full length record to date. Shhhh! Golf is On goes hard.
A cute release from a solid side project. At times the vocals feel a bit too polished, but on the whole it's a fun record. Freakin' U Out and Not Yours stand out to me as very Rosenstock-y tracks so it makes sense that they are my favorites
A very solid first album with some insanely catchy tracks. It's cool to see how much Hot Mulligan refined their sound between Pilot and Why Would I Watch.
Back to back folk punk bangers. It's fun, it's emotionally charged, it's catchy as hell. The most consistent of Days N Daze's discography
An optimistic outlook through the lens of a pessimist. Some damn catchy tracks with excellent vocal performances. The more synth heavy pop-rock vibes absolutely work for me. One of the best releases of the past few years.
A sweet album with a shaky, nervouse energy that I find endearing and reassuring. It's cute, it's sad and it's catchy. Neat.
Not as smooth an album as Cosmic Thrill Seekers, but a great album nonetheless with some truly killer songs
A seamless narrative filled with anxiety, loneliness and coming to terms with ones self. I got into it at a time in my life where I truly needed it and I will forever be thankful for it. Very possibly my favorite album.
Fun and vulnerable lyrics coupled with catchy instrumentation and some modern classic pop punk tracks.
Possibly my favorite work from Car Seat Headrest, filled with Toledo's excellent writing and powerful instrumentals with consistently catchy hooks. Car Seat Headrest deserve the hype behind them.
Extremely emotional album filled with great writing, catchy hooks and strong insturumentals. Those 10+ minute tracks (plural) will breeze by.
Another great Midwest Emo classic that while not quite as consistent as Summer Death, still reaches insane heights with tracks like Pony Up!! and Are You Afraid of God? No, But I'm Afraid of You.
