Such a singular album, nothing else really sounds quite like it. The sound design is nuts on this record, and you can definitely feel Arca's fingerprint and approach to music impact the songs she worked on but also the rest of the record. The lyricism only adds to the mood and ambience on this record. She lowkey played in our face with the singles just to release this album... girl be fr with me. I think I would receive the album better if the tracklisting was better, unfortunately frontloading the album with singles worked against her in my opinion. That being said Unconditional is so awesome.

It starts off so unbelievably strong with such fresh production on the very first song, and then it manages to lose steam on the second song. It was such a slog to get through no shade

Lowkey everyone saying that the band got worse after kelli ali was kicked out after "Becoming X" is straight up lying... this is peak...! Infinitely better than their debut album in my opinion.

The production is so pussy, really good blend of classical music and more electronic/contemporary production techniques. Also the engineering is fantastic, everything is so clear in the mix!

Didn't love some of the vocal performances, too much air passes through the vocal chords without making sound so the voice comes out so airy, thin, and cold instead of full dark and warm, definitely not what you're supposed to do when singing more legit instead of pop.
