This album is insanity. It felt like it lasted forever but in a good way :)
This album is ok but is lacking the intensity of Mc ride so it can be bland. Still a fine album
Not a bad album by any means. But it was still a let down compared to the money store and no love deep web. Some of the tracks just didn’t bang as much as I wanted them to
I LOVE THIS ALBUM. It hits your eardrums like a sucker punch to the face and I had a blast listening to it. Just as good as the money store in my opinion.
This album RULES. I can remember almost every song from heart and it helped me get into more abstract genres. Also… IM IN YOUR AREA!!!!!!
A phenomenal mixtape with great aggression that only improves with every listen.
I personally like giles corey more but this album is also incredible
edit: this album is just as good as giles corey for me now :)
this album was very interesting and cool but i feel as if i haven't fully grasped how i feel. needs a relisten
edit:dang..... this album is insanely beautiful and terrifyingly dark i was about to give this a 100 but there is another album that is slightly better in swans discog. still this album is an incredible masterpiece
Update 2025: after sitting with this album for quite a few years I just gotta say that this is genuinely one of the greatest albums I have either listened to up there ... read more
I was chilling in a discord and people kept saying that Ken Carson’s x was really good. WHAT WHERE THEY ON XD. This was the most boring repetitive wannabe playboy carti garbage I have ever heard. The problem was the flow was so boring and all over the place that I had to pull up lyrics to understand what he was saying and even though I was able to read the lyrics it was just complete utter garbage lyrics. Overall this is one of the most boring “rap albums” I have ever listened ... read more
this is honestly a pretty good post rock album. kinda wish they did a little more tho
Edit: this album grew on me :)
the fact that this album can make time fly by in a flash for me is insane. every aspect of this 5 part song is gorgeous. while i consider the live version better the studio version is still a masterpiece
while this album is a decent follow up. it feels like they kinda lost a bit of the energy compared to the last album. a couple songs are really fun but most of the other ones are just alright.
my favorite song was def dumbest girl alive while my least favorite was frog on the floor
this is one of the most interesting albums i heard from the pat 2 years. this album is really creative with its use of sampling and replicating the feeling of nostalgia. the opener sounds like you are being transported into the world lum is in on the album cover. i also loved the lyrics on here (my favorite being "crime scene photos,of a moth without its wings. goes unnoticed, but it still hears everything". this project reminds me of sesame street with its instrumentals and gives me ... read more
loneliness is one of the saddest things we can experience. this album captures loneliness perfectly and that alone deserves a perfect score. yet that's not all that makes this a perfect album. the album also has some of the most depressing, heartbreaking and thought provoking lyrics i have ever heard. some people will not get this album and thats perfectly fine, but i will forever cherish this album for getting me through my darkest moments.
while this album may not reach the heights of plastic beach and demon days it still is a solid album with a few BANGERS.
edit: this album shrank on me and i should give my current thoughts. while i like a few songs on this album, it is insanely simplistic. even my favorite song on the album (skinny ape) does not reach its full potential. overall this is a pretty average album from gorillaz and is really disappointing.
original ranking:80/100
new ranking:60/100 :(
a HUGE step up from self titled. every song blends well together and it feels like a complete package. i have no personal gripes with any song. my favorite songs are Dare, Kids With Guns, Feel Good Inc. and dirty harry
