I've been trying to "get" Ants From Up There for months by now. Despite the fact that this album contains everything that would normally make me love it, it never really clicked with me. So, after a very focused and locked-in 5 back-to-back listens, I'm proud to say I've diagnosed the issue, and can now appreciate the album as much as I possibly can.
In most aspects, AFUT is pretty spectacular. The production is complex and layered and emotional. The band has amazing ... read more
woah !!
So, after declaring The New Sound as one of my top 3 albums ever made, my hungry ass decided to run to the source to try and squeeze some more peak nectar out of Geordie Greep's magical teat, in the form of the band he kicked off his career with, black midi.
I think my biggest issue with this album is that it's not particularly memorable. Not the album itself, obviously, this shit's absolutely crazy, how could I forget, but that none of the songs seem to have any kind ... read more
This is genuinely the single most dazzlingly produced album I've ever heard. I GENUINELY can't comprehend how this was composed. Not only that, the concept of this album is extremely intriguing and hilarious, and Greep's voice is so beautiful and powerful it fits right in with the crazy jazz production.
The fact that THAT voice is attached to a skinny white guy is crazy. Should I check out black midi now?
slime yo producer gng 💔
is it bad that this is the first drake album ive ever listened to? i was gonna do a whole discography dive for iceman but all of drakes albums are inflated furries with 300 tracks so whatever.
this is completely iredeemable dogshit. it started off promising, and road trips is an actually good song. the rest of this album is pure dreck.
drake is essentially all-powerful when it comes to hip hop. realise that. he can pay for the best producers and songwriters in the ... read more

songs like HERMANOS and Tell Me Where To Go are wayy to chill to fit into the STH tracklist so I get why they were taken out, but Guess What Bitch would've legit fit rght in.
The spoken word section in NO! NO! NO! is insanely good but istg this song gets SO annoying SO fast 😭🙏
As somebody who exclusively knew Danny Brown from Atrocity Exhibit and STH (at the time of listening to this), it was honestly really jarring to hear danny make "normal" music. which isn't something you can say about a lot of artists haha.
Exclusively hiring trans hyperpop artists to produce your album is a hilarious stunt. it was kinda foreshadowed with the feature on jane removers album.
JANE REMOVER DANNY BROWN COLLAB ALBUM IS CLOSER THAN EVER
are you are you coming to the tree
(phonk + slower + tuff version) 🥶✌️
🚨IF YOU THINK THE THREE POPULAR SONGS ARE THE ONLY GOOD ONES THEN YOU ARE WRONG🚨
Yes, Time to Pretend, Kids and Electric Feel are all great songs. Time to Pretend is dare I say the best track on here. But the rest of the album is amazing too, it's just that it has a fundamentally different sound to those three songs. I mean, there's a reason those three popped off. They're way more poppy, compared to the rest of the album which is like folk and psychidelia and stuff.

Mladic and we drift like worried fire are some all-time greats, but the other half of this album kinda feels like filler. Especially strung like lights, which definitely doesn't earn 8 minutes of relatively uneventful droning, and is a pretty poor ending to the album.
still, mladic is the best godspeed song you cant fight me to the death on that
This is possibly one of the most hardcore hip hop albums I've ever heard. It doesn't stop, not even for a moment. I'll admit, that did leave me disappointed at first. I was hoping for some more variation in the type of song this album had to offer, maybe something softer every once in a while to break it up.
But then I began to understand. There's nothing "soft" about the fucked up world we live in. There's nothing ""soft"" about the taboo ... read more
If there's one thing I admired about the "old" Kanye, it was his ability to consistently choose great subject matters. After the college trilogy, he'd completely exhausted his underdog "rise to fame story". Thankfully, that was right in time for a couple of personal tragedies to hit, which would give him enough thematic juice to make a new album, that being 808s & Heartbreak. But what now? Aside from bragging about how friggin rich he is (which would later ... read more
Albums packed with so many short songs often run the risk of feeling unfinished or incomplete (ahem ahem bully ahrrrm), but this album somehow straddles that very tight rope and ends up feeling impossibly tight and enjoyable.
Before I start, I’d like to draw attention to some really disgusting behavior I’ve seen from the community around this album. Basically, an artist called Pomme refused to clear a sample to HIGHS AND LOWS, which was probably the most anticipated song on the album, because of moral disagreements with Ye. And the way everyone has been treating Pomme over this single fucking sample is genuinely so gross. People calling her a bitch, a whore, I saw someone on Reddit say that she’s ... read more
