yeah this is just really good.
apart from the amazing instrumentation on this record, the drums in particular, i also just think that every song on here is worth listening to (except for maybe The One with the Piano). of course you can critique the lyricism, which at some point gets pretty questionable, but overall i feel like the songs on LP4 are all worth a listen and definitely not a let down after the seven years between LP3 and LP4. American Football still got it and while they don't ... read more
While some songs are definitely better than others, the album really does not drop in quality at all for me and is an enjoyable listen front to back. Some songs like Innuendo or Lovefield I won't return to as often but man some of the songs here are among underscore's best (Hollywood Forever, The Peace, among others) and overall this project is definitely her most consistent for me, albeit that it could've used maybe one or two more tracks (though this is only cause I felt sad ... read more
I was kinda shocked to see this sitting at a sub-50 score, I really did not think it was that bad. Might be one of the best BTS albums I've listened to, and I consider myself a pretty casual listener. I really respect the experimentation on some of the tracks here, and even if it doesn't always work out amazing, I still think this is a pretty solid album all things considered from one of the biggest juggernauts in music's recent history. Some songs will definitely go into my ... read more
i first heard this over spotify smart shuffle and had to triple check that this was from a fucking MOBILE GAME of all things. what the fuck? this is so high quality?
In my first version of this review I gave the album a 75, and said that there’s some standout tracks on here, yet some of the shorter songs feel like filler. And upon a subsequent second and third listen I kind of realized that the songs that are only a minute and a half or shorter outnumber the “actual” songs by such a large margin.
Songs like Sojourn, Hotel California, among others show what kind of potential Joji has in this new sound that he’s going in, with this ... read more
this was Fine, definitely one of the better singles for me. someone said that it kinda sounds like this album's version of "gimme love" from the beat and i kinda agree with that. hopefully he reserves some of the heavy hitters for the actual album. also i feel like this song was kinda padded. 2:30 for 2 hooks and a verse seems kinda long.
Rocky's return album after 8 years is in many ways not what I expected. A lot can happen in 8 years and after the fiascos that Rocky has been through after Testing, I found it quite unlikely we were getting another album like his earlier stuff, but the experimentation that we got on this album honestly was quite nice. Hearing Rocky in all these different styles makes for an entertaining listen, even if not all the songs landed as good as they could have, but I'm glad Rocky's ... read more
if this is the direction that parannoul's gonna go in with his new album, i don't really have a problem with that. where sky hundred and it's singles were loud and harsh, this softer and more acoustic approach definitely feels like a breath of fresh air and a natural evolution of his sound for me. instrumental on this is really nice, and his vocals on this are very pleasant as well. great way to start the new year.
first single of 2026 and i thought this was pretty okay!
for me, the song is definitely carried by joji's vocal performance because the instrumental on its own isn't really interesting to me, i get all the "end of beginnings" comparsions but really i don't think it's THAT noticeable until its actively being pointed out to you.
the vocals on this sound kinda washed out and like they're on the same "layer" as the rest of instrumental but i feel like ... read more
I wonder how much heat is still out there that I know nothing about, man.
Now that the year's ending I'm slowly getting around to releases that I've missed and somehow flew under my radar, and after all the word of mouth recommendations that slayr got for "Half Blood" I just had to see what the hype was about. And man, is it justified.
Even though I like the more Digicore beats more than the few Rage cuts that are on here, slayr absolutely performs on every single ... read more
Jane's best work today and it's a 6 song EP.
I really do wonder where she'll go after Revengeseekerz cause if this EP is anything to go off, there's no way but up. Insane.
this is really good, glad to see dominic can still make songs over 1:30 and have it sound Good. more of this please.
my glorious king can do no wrong. parannoul's take on folktronica / glitch pop sounds really really solid and some of the tracks on here may as well be some of my favorites from him overall. just like on silence is the new noise, i'm glad he's experimenting more and not afraid to put it out there.
