It’s less about the music, more about the experience of when this dropped that makes this a 63. Probably one of the most anticipated albums ever.
Cant believe there are people out there that think this is the best album that dropped on this day 🥀
Thank you @Garrrfield for the rec. I don’t know why this LP is hated??! Like genuinely, it’s probably the best rap album from the 80’s, and LL Cool J’s lyricism is really ahead of its time. That being said, there is a lot of bloat, specifically in the middle. The first 5 tracks form an amazing opening, though. I find it funny how the best storytelling comes from the track Big Ole Butt, a track that would be probably the worst song on the whole thing without the ... read more
wtf.. this feels like listening to Swans’s brother who listened to too much SOAD. I’ve never even heard of post-metal, but I already love it. The riffs and the explosions of sound were amazing, but my favorite parts of the album were the more calmer, more atmospheric parts. Also, apparently Aaron Turner from another band called Isis was a main vocalist on this project. I definitely have to do a deep dive into this band and Isis too. Highly highly recommend, but it’s not for ... read more
The title track is Swans’s best song ever imo and this is their 3rd best album and a top 20 album of all time. The glaze seems crazy, but trust me.
Abel’s last work under The Weeknd is pretty good. It’s an excellent way to end the trilogy of After Hours, Dawn FM, and now Hurry Up Tomorrow. The film, however, further proves that The Weeknd cannot act, or direct, or that he shouldn’t even be allowed to be on set at all. But this review is about the music, not the movie. Abel gives us a LOT to digest here on this hour and a half journey through the last days of The Weeknd. Tracks like Cry For Me and São Paulo are very ... read more
Best trap album of the 2020’s. So many tracks will be called classics soon
It’s, wild, chaotic, and everything a Danny Brown track should be. I feel like this will forever be in my rotation ngl.
Thanks LJP for the rec-
This album is so bad it’s honestly laughable. The awkward flows, the super corny lyrics, the basic production, and the weird storyline make this project very hard to take seriously. I genuinely think an 11 year old version of me can make a better album than this. The audio logs were very weird, and it felt like the narrator/therapist guy was hired off of Fiverr. The mixing was nonexistent, and this guys voice make tracks straight up unbearable at times. One thing I ... read more
Someone called this the best jazz rap album since TPAB, and they’re not wrong. Thx Garrrfield for the rec btw
150th review special-
Just a heads up I’m going on a school trip until Sunday so I’m not gonna be able to rate anything. Edit: the trip was peak.
Alright, with the current state of the world, it’s kind of crazy how sadly accurate this album is now. It depicts a world where there are whole beaches filled with plastic (as the name suggests) because of how nobody is taking care of the world. This is following up Demon Days, a top 25 album of all time, yet the quality ... read more
Good album, but the weirder the Gorillaz music, the better and this is one of their less weird albums.
I don’t know what to say that hasn’t been said before about this album, but I do want to say that this is such a classic and a perfect album to me. Top 3 prog rock album oat.
Top 3 rap album of the decade. The original album was already amazing, and the additions that this deluxe makes are perfect. Chrome Hearts might just be top 5 off of the album. Denzel’s rapping ability is at its peak on this thing, and he also dives into more melodic cuts, which he did really well. In my opinion, this is Denzel’s best album, and is barely over Taboo for me.
This is my current album of the year. I know I overuse the word beautiful in my reviews but it’s genuinely the only word I can think of to describe this album. James’s singing is so delicate over some of the greatest production I’ve ever even heard. The track with Dave is definitely one of my favorites. They need to make a collab album ASAP. I was pretty surprised to hear the song that was supposed to be on “War” with ye on here. I Had A Dream She Took My Hand is ... read more
I normally don’t like self promo, but this is honestly a great track. Idk what I was expecting going into this single, but keep it up. I feel like you could honestly make it big one day.
