250th review special:
What did I just listen to. Genuinely. Listen to the title track right now. That song changed my life, even though i only heard it around 20 hours ago. This whole album feels like the epitome of spring/summer, so unbelievably melancholy, like you’re basking in a bed of flowers or on a road trip with your best friends or something. I can see the influence in artists like Mac Demarco and tracks like End Of Beginning by Djo. Is it a perfect, flawless tracklist? Not ... read more
Since when did Oliver Tree become a Travis Scott ripoff and make even worse music
dammmmn I see you Thundercat… Album so good I transformed into Michael Jackson and moonwalked all over my house with one glove on. Did not disappoint.
The four new tracks add to If Nevermore so well, though this should have just been an EP. 555 is a perfect song but goes on a bit too long in my opinion. Hiraeth kind of sounds like a worse In Sunder with bits of See Myself mixed in. Chemical Coffins would be Sub’s best song ever if it was longer, and Lord Of Nothing is Sub’s best song ever.
Track ranking:
1. Lord of Nothing-100/100
2. Chemical Coffins-98/100
3. 555-95/100
4. Hiraeth-80/100-
Crazy that Kanye somehow managed to release his magnum opus as his debut. There’s just something about this LP that gravitates me towards it. Top 10 rap album of all time.
Thank you @Garrrfield for the rec. one of the best rap songs to ever exist, with a top ten rap feature of all time from Rick Ross over beautiful production from none other than Mike Dean.
Thank you @Garrrfield for the rec. One of Ye’s best albums, it’s iconic, it’s luxurious, and it has some of hip hop’s greatest features and songs.
Thank you @Garrrfield for the rec. This is a really underrated Wayne project and one of his best works to date. Definitely a hip hop classic.
Thank you @Juggernaut1914 for the rec. The best RTJ imo, really well put together. I dont have much to say that hasn’t already been said i feel like.
It’s so fun that it’s infectious, such a great highlight from last year. Cant wait to see what she does next.
This reminds me a LOT of I Love My Computer by Ninajirachi from 2025. April goes into more of a dance/EDM style on this LP. And I like it. It’s really fun and short and leaves you wanting more. Not better than Wallsocket, but still really good.
WE ARE SO BACCCK!! I was honestly scared to click play and give it a listen for a fear of it being more AI Nazi shit. IT’S NOT. There are little bits of ai on the intro of preacher man and damn still sounds ass and circles is NOT the version we all expected, but other than that it’s honestly amazing. This project really feels like 808’s and heartbreak mixed with Yeezus, two of his most controversial albums. And it works really really well. I can already tell that King is going ... read more
