I am a huge fan of Mac Miller, and I think that's my biggest problem with this album.
Let me be clear that by itself as a raw sound "Balloonerism" sounds incredible. Every verse, every drum, every small sound sounds great. The producers for this album killed it. It's just that the quality disparity between tracks is decided by one simple factor, how much is Mac Miller actually on the track. It's been over 4 years since Mac passed and we've already gotten a ... read more
Impressive mix of multi-phased tracks, rock instrumentals, and pop hooks held back by bland vocals. If there were more merit to the vocals on this album I think I would have enjoyed it a lot more.
Not catchy, not fun, not creative, and simply not a good album. Abominable music made by one of the least respectable artists I know. The only compliment I can give this album is that it's 12 minutes and not a full 30-60 minute album. The day Jojo Siwa makes a full length album is the day I will leave this earth.
I actually find this track to be really fun and playful, like the other reviews say this song sorta transcends genre in a really interesting sort of way. This track is something that I'm glad I got to hear but in the nicest way possible I don't find any reason to ever come back to this song. I'm not very good at reviewing music so I might be using these words wrong but this song feels like it lacks any sort of direction, like it comes in, plays some cutesy and nostalgic feeling noises and then ... read more
the name of this album is rlly funny when u consider the fact that every song is the exact same
Good album with good production, I just wish Chief Keef brought more personality and creativity to the mic. Back when he made finally rich this sound was new but not so much anymore, Chief Keef nowadays doesn't sound near as inventive and inspired as he did back then. Though with some time to grow I feel like he can make quite an interesting shift artistically that hopefully includes sizing his albums down to make for a more fitting experience. Overall outside of a few somewhat forgettable ... read more
its actually impressive how no matter how good the beats or production is j cole is just incapable of sounding interesting ever
Dark and electrifying. The only thing that bothers me about this album is that I didn't hear it sooner.
This is a really good album that’s held back by a formulaic approach.
Out of all of radiohead's albums this is the album that I think defines their sound the most. While most of radiohead's albums sound wildly different and have these hugs concepts and visions this album really just doesn't have any of that. Don't get me wrong this is a really well produced and written album it's just this album suffers from too much of the same that we've seen time and time again. I've read some of the ... read more
This album has some really good songs that are held back by some really boring songs. There is no reason for most of the stuff in the middle of this album to exist.
Horrifying and beautiful. Though at times I feel it can be a bit too alternative for it's own good. Either way this is an incredibly interesting and unique listen. Love this album and can't wait to see what they do next.
Completely stunning, I've always been impressed with these singers that can emotionally move you with just their words and a few instruments. I typically avoid albums like this because I usually feel they're very dull and dry but Adrianna Lenker is an exception. Her sort of cry'ey type singing and heart wrenching lyrics are sure to make you feel something. Great album
One of the most enrapturing experiences I've had this year with music. Every song is riddled with bone chilling vocals and horrifying instrumentals, this is a must hear.
This album was made by a band named gorrilaz yet not even one of the members of the band is an actual gorrila. 0/10
Demon days is seriously an impressive album, covered head to toe in some of the most unique and creative beats I have ever heard. The choruses are catchy and the production is clean and snappy. My only big complaint is that I wish they were a bit more outgoing sound wise, when looking at something like plastic beach you can really hear how much of this sound there really was left ... read more
I love this album because you can really hear how this managed to transform into what Nirvana would later go on to do, I can clearly hear both In Utero and Nevermind through this album. However unsurprisingly this album does not match up to either of these goliaths. One of my biggest gripes with this album is Kurt Cobains vocal performances and the mixing. At least for me Kurt Cobain sounds pretty unclear and muddy throughout this album and what doesn't help this fact is how underdeveloped ... read more
