It was really enjoyable and close to what I was expecting.
Definitely not a 100 but still an absolute banger. This is the third album I listened to today and I definitely listened to it at the right time - weight lifting. Probably the best metal album of all time, but the last two songs were pretty lame so it fell off there after starting super strong.
Hear me out: “Yellow Submarine” was peak. But seriously though, the album was awesome and it’s easy to see why it’s such a musical and cultural force.
I went into it expecting it to be extraordinary but it was just a pretty good album. It’s still a super popular album but this one just didn’t do it for me as much as I thought it would. The vocals aren’t that amazing and the songs are great and soulful nonetheless. But come on, there’s definitely some glaze on this one.
At first my reaction was similar to “Pet Sounds” being that it wasn’t my favorite. I was like “dang, I thought this was gonna be one of my favorites.” But, by the end especially with that finally like six song stretch, I loved the album and appreciated the production that would impact the music industry forever on.
Same great song writing as “Songs Of Leonard Cohen” but with a lot more expression of music. “Hallelujah” obviously was the highlight and trumped everything else in the album. Honestly, Leonard Cohen might be one of my new GOATs.
Yeah, Tom Petty is one of the absolute GOATs. It was such a fire album and should be marked as a must listen. To all the heartland rock haters: ✌️ (you thought I was gonna put up different fingers)
Obviously a very aggressive and innovative album, “Licensed To Ill” didn’t really break through to me until “Fight For Your Right” and the album was just great after that. Moral of the story: This album stuck out and will continue to because of its aggressive and innovative bangers for driving, partying, lifting and more in the second half of the album.
I love CCR but somehow this was the first album of theirs I listened to. It was amazing! It started off so good and that transition between “Poorboy Shuffle” and “Feelin’ Blue” was awesome! The end felt kind of long even though the album was on like 30 minutes but all of these are replays for me, straight to the playlist. Nothing to complain about really for an album that brought us “Fortunate Son”.
I think she shoulda gone back to rehab because it was pretty good. Top two albums I’ve heard with the words back and black.
An R&B powerhouse, “The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill” relates to everyday struggles and Ms. Lauryn Hill’s personal life. Similar to “The College Dropout” by Kanye West, there are school skits to take both albums to the next level. Lauryn Hill’s solo album is the best album of the 1990’s and still holds up today. I don’t know how it took so long for me to listen to it but I’m so glad I did. A so close to peak album, I would recommend it to ... read more
It’s a great song. Also, how does this man have a 40 something critic rating and a 70 plus user. Wild difference
So I listened to this the day it came out, having no knowledge of the band’s previous work. I picked this album because of the name of “American Football” to be honest. On the other end, yesterday was a historic night for basketball with those Knicks whooping the Hawks by 51 in game 6 but I’m getting off track. I was pleasantly surprised by this album. I wasn’t really on board until the third song and then it started to stick with me. It wasn’t entirely my ... read more
