White Pony is arguably the best album from Deftones. I started listening to their discography with Around The Fur and actually skipped this album originally as a final surprise after listening to their entire discography (since there was so much love around it). This exceeded all my expectations and as what I thought was my favorite Deftones record, Around The Fur became this one. The production is absolutely phenomenal. Chino's vocals are absolutely amazing and insane on this record. ... read more
Tyler cooked up what is arguably one of the best albums this year for me. This is the first project I've heard from him, and I am absolutely addicted to the instrumentals on this album. I really enjoy the screaming on this album, and I never really found it annoying. This album also made me want to check out his other EP. I can also tell there was some inspiration from Brave Little Abacus during the making of this project. One of my favorites of the year.
If you told me YEAT would have made one of the best albums this year, I would have said you were crazy.
I listened to this when it was released, and off the bat I really enjoyed the experimentation in the production. It's spacey and otherworldly, and it feels like it's coming from a different planet. I gave it an 80 originally.
In my opinion, when I listen to rage rap, the lyrics really don't matter; I usually just listen to it for the vibes. But during my second listen to ... read more
Back in early 2021, Lil Darkie was my introduction to rap, which was a very weird and questionable choice to listen to for rap. Unfortunately, it was the worst idea to listen to him as a first artist because I became an edgy 15-year-old kid during the time. Eventually, I matured out of my edgy persona and stopped listening to Lil Darkie and moved on to other artists. I revisited this album after remembering him after 2 years, and this is better than what I expected. Some songs, like rap/wrap ... read more
Why do you have to pay for the only good song from this era? Wish these albums had the same energy and effort like take off your dress.
Take Off Your Dress: 70/100
Really amazing collab with a very funny verse from Billie Eilish. Club banger
Nice beat and not the biggest ian fan but he really did good while yatchy was eh.
This was my first grindcore album and this is still my favorite. A classic.
I am absolutely mind blown.
This album starts with an insane stadium feeling opening like you are entering a battlefield and I believe that battlefield is her introverted emotions and personalities, with the frustration of someone extroverted. The energy in her lyrics and delivery hit so hard they make you feel like you are experiencing it with her. The production is absolutely mind-blowing, it feels like you are flowing through a different dimension.
Usually interludes kind of annoy me in ... read more
This is the most influential trap album of all time. The sound on this album is unlike anything in 2010 and Waka Flocka Flame's amazing delivery in songs like "Bustin' at 'Em" and "No Hands." The production may be a bit outdated, but because of Waka Flocka Flame's turn-up delivery in the songs, it makes it so much more enjoyable. This isn't my favorite trap record because Rodeo exists. Def a close second though.
This album is incredible!!!! It's been a hot minute since Nurture, which was one of my favorite out of all the albums to come out that year, being my favorite electropop album that year. SMILE! :D is also one of my favorite albums to come out this year with songs that have a fun electropop but some vulnerability in the songs. Porter Robinson does it again this year!
Before I even listened to music actively, I was introduced to Sad Machine through a game I played and thought it was a cool song, so I checked out the recent album at the time which was Nurture. I loved this album with all my heart ever since 2021 and the more time passes the more I listen to it. This is my favorite electronic project ever.
