It's like giving your heart to Ride and letting him control when and how your heart beats.
The sound of this project is very distinct from their others, it's way more rhythmic and structured. The instrumentals sound fuller due to the absence of Ride, the drum programming is fantastic and the melancholic sound of 'Interview B' establishes it as one of my favourite Death Grips songs ever.
This was really boring and stretched out on first listen but after a few more listens you start to understand the depth and message this album tries to convey.
Edit: I really like the deep cuts now, you get used to the unusual mix after another listen or two. Although, I still feel like this projects goes on for a bit too long.
genre bending IDM braindance electronic fusion. The game and the soundtrack compliment the atmosphere of the experience very well.
The ending feels off, but the material shown on this project is definitely intriguing. It really does capture the sound of a post human world.
Even though the concept is pretty scattered, you could tell he is onto something great.
Only reason it's not perfect for me is because I'm not sure if I'd love it to this extent if I had never played minecraft. The nostalgia factor of this album is what completes it.
Lil Yachty puts his ego aside and borrows help from the greats and puts his magic in it. "the BLACK. seminole." is the Bohemian Rhapsody of my generation.
EDIT: The closing track starts off the same way as "Pyramid Song" by Radiohead. Why is nobody talking about that?
