this has the most british name ever
After Roger Waters left, David Gilmour took over and made A Momentary Lapse of Reason to prove he could keep Pink Floyd going. However, it just feels unfamiliar. It's missing the magic Roger Waters brought to Pink Floyd. Those moments the music pulls you in and puts you into a trance are just gone. This feels underwhelming for a Floyd project, and honestly feels more like a solo Gilmour album.
I think AllMusic describes the issue here pretty well. This ... read more
the first verse of this is amazing and then afterward it kinda falls off and becomes a bit messy
Another surprise EP??
I've only listened to the Joshua Tree + a couple more recent songs i didn't really like, so i'm not too sure what to expect. Two EPs and a full album months apart this far into their career is kinda impressive. Leaves me wondering what the full length album is gonna be like whenever that releases.
U2 still holds up pretty well 39 years after The Joshua Tree. This still has that same U2 sound. Bono still sounds great and writes pretty well, and the ... read more

93 -> 95. Jake E. Lee was going wild on his guitar. RIP Randy Rhoads. It's insane to me how Ozzy managed to make this in while at his worst, let alone how he pulled through.
First impression of Thundercat besides two of the singles, Them Changes and his features on Wesley's Theory and Cracker Island. I'm excited to listen because She Knows Too Much was peak and No More Lies was also pretty good.
Yeah, this was pretty good. This has highs and stays pretty consistent. Not really any lows to point out. It kinda trails off in quality around the end I guess, but I wouldn't call 7s lows. Every feature was great. Hearing Mac again was amazing. That's ... read more

Consistent as shit. How is this the same guy who made S4TS?? Denzel on S4TS was kinda mid and this is just peak. Pretty fire concept album. Amazing performances from Denzel. Great lyricism too. Lots of great features throughout. JID, Saul Williams, Karrlem Riggins, slowthai stood out the most to me.
thx @Thepotatoguy for the recommendation.
Paul McCartney making music in the 2020s. That doesn't sound like a real sentence, does it? I just wanted to listen to one song off this to figure out if he still made decent music after six decades, and that turned into listening to the album before I even finished the 'one song'. He's releasing another album later this year, so it works out anyway.
5 songs into this and i'm having a pretty good time. Paul still sounds pretty fresh. I can't tell it's a 78ish ... read more
Making music of this quality at 83 years old is impressive. A simple guitar and some nice lyrics is enough for a song if done right. Excited for the album.
80 -> 85. Grew on me a bit.
Pink Floyd is one of my favorite bands, and was my grandpa's favorite artist. Animals is the 29th highest rated album on the site, so I definitely have expectations. Do I expect this to be on the level of Wish You Were Here or Dark Side Of The Moon? Kind of, but I also understand that that's an almost impossible standard. What happens will happen. If it isn't as good as either, oh well.
'Pigs on the Wing 1' is a pretty good intro. I wish it was longer, but nonetheless ... read more

I'm pretty sure i'm the only person I know who doesn't think Running Up That Hill is a 10/10 song. I've heard it like 20 times and the best it ever was for me is like a 9/10. Rn, it's an 8.1 for me.
Hounds of Love caught my eye yesterday after I remembered it existed (it's kinda always just lived in the back of my mind). Today I decided to listen to it to see if it's the most overrated album of all time. Top 70 highest rated album on the site rn, and the lead ... read more
I made this as a joke. I wanted to see that if I had my friend add a fake album (i mean fake as in shitpost. i didn't use ai to make this.) and then I advertised it on an alt account, could it gain traction? And uh, it didn't work out (tbf I didn't try all that much, I advertised to like 30 people), but it's cool someone actually reviewed it. Thx Memim.

There is nobody else who can make something so enjoyably nonsensical besides Captain Beefheart and his magic band. This is fun, hilarious, extremely enjoyable, goofy, and it's so bad it's good. this is a pretty good album and extremely consistent. Alchemist production is fire and Boldy James does well on it.
