The gap between Limp Bizkit’s Gold Cobra and Still Sucks is the longest in the band’s discography. Taking a break was probably the best decision that the band could have made. Limp Bizkit weren’t relevant anymore and were a complete joke by the 2010s. The band is older, less macho, and more self-aware than ever before.
Out of Style and Dirty Rotten Bizkit are decent starts to Still Sucks. Wes Borland’s riffs are so bouncy and they carry the songs as usual. The lyrics ... read more
Deftones’ Ohms is a record that I’ve never been in love with. It’s not a bad record, but I’ve never really felt that it had any stand out tracks. Deftones (Self-titled), Gore, and Ohms are the only records by the band where I don’t love a single track.
Genesis kicks the album off with a bang. It has the appropriate amount of energy that I want out of an opening track and I love the instrumentation. Chino sounds pissed and I love that. I just wish that the lyrics ... read more
While private music doesn’t reach the same heights as my top three favorite Deftones records, this is a pretty great album from a band that’s been making music for over thirty years. private music incorporates a bit of every era of Deftones while also having a distinct personality.
my mind is a mountain sounds like it could have been on Ohms. It’s a very typical Deftones track and doesn’t do anything mindblowing. But I can’t deny that it kicks the album off with ... read more
Jackpot Juicer is Dance Gavin Dance’s tenth album and somehow, they still manage to be one of the most consistently great bands out there in my opinion. I had thought that Dance Gavin Dance was no longer in their peak after Artificial Selection and Afterburner. Those are good albums but don’t stack up to every record that preceded them. The band went even further in a pop direction with those records and they just didn’t click with me as much as the Kurt Travis or early Tilian ... read more
See What’s on the Inside would be a decent rock record if any band other than Asking Alexandria had made it. However, I’ve been following this band since 2010 and considered them to be my favorite band for many years. Asking Alexandira will always mean something to me and they did during the low points of their discography. I love Danny Worsnop’s vocals and he almost always delivers even if I do not care for a particular album here and there that this band has in their ... read more
