I really love this new direction they’re going in.

This is one of the greatest pieces of music i’ve ever had the pleasure of listening too. I’ve never experienced something like this and to be honest it’s overwhelming. Flood is only 4 songs long but clocks in at an hour and 10 minutes and makes use of it’s time wisely. Having flood one and four being soft and luscious tracks. This is a tearjerker
If you have the time please do some info on Marsha, it will tie you into the album even more and get you informed on a important figure in history.

First Utterance is a weird album if you couldn’t tell by the album cover. People mention the MF Doom sample but I was more surprised getting to Chanson d’un jour d’hiver and hearing the Lupe Fiasco Mural sample.But other than that a really fun and amazing album here. Going on a strong 9 track run with amazing, innovative and even calming at some points. I was so excited for this group’s debut due to the hype around Sugarcoat and its promotion. But when listening I’m more disappointed than everything. The ep starts off strong with a great 3 track run from Shhh to Sugarcoat. But going deeper into the solos it went downhill from there to just being very boring imo. Nothing special, just blandness in Countdown to Play Love Games. Kiss of Life’s self tilted ep is ok for a debut but lacks something for me.

Great considering NMIXX’s past Singles.

I had such a nice time listening to this album. I knew it was going to be different from Cobalt from the album cover (which to me atleast reminded me of a mix between Ichiko Aoba’s Windswept Adan and Weyes Blood’s Titanic Rising) but I was so happy with what I got. I feel like I would adore this track/ep if I knew whay Amaii was saying but checking Amaii’s instagram it’s certainly a heartbreaker. So when I do find out I think I’ll like it even more than I already do. But from what it is, it’s great especially with the last 6 minutes with a magnificent ending to the 14 minute ep/song.

The cat was what I came for, I stayed for how good this fucking album is.

Even though the interludes do drag the album on a bit, I love how they immerse me into the music even more. Album wise the entire thing flows amazingly. A must listen of 2023 and a true underrated gem and a classic to be.
