At only 13 minutes, this is an incredible R&B ep. Skip Waiters doesn’t reinvent the genre, but still manages to sound fresh, with production you’d expect from a big release.

There’s a lot of potential here, as he shows to be comfortable with different flows and styles, with great vocals and rapping ability. The only feature here, Kalisway, also does an amazing job on the most popular song here, just busiNESS. My favourite song is definitely chanGES, as really like the ... read more

J. Cole - The Fall-Off

A great double album with J Cole’s perspective when he was 29 vs when he was 39. An incredible theme for his supposedly last project, but I feel like it fails to reach its full potential, falling short of being a masterpiece.

The fall-off is an incredible concept: after you reach the top there’s nowhere to go but down. You either realise this and retire at the top, giving space to the younger generation, or stay comfortable with the number 1 spot long enough to lose creativity, ... read more

Portishead - Dummy

Portishead created a great atmosphere and a unique mood that I’ve never heard on any other album.

I understand the criticism that this can feel like an album that you listen in the background without thinking too much about it - the vocals are very soothing and often quiet, sometimes blending with the beat (and I can see how this makes some songs forgettable). But I think that’s part of its charm.

This album doesn’t work just as background noise, it’s also a great ... read more

A classic of the underground?

This is easily Destroy Lonely’s best project (and arguably Opium’s), showcasing his best rapping ability, versatility and potential. It’s a fun listen with some very rough songs.

Here we have some of Lone’s best tracks to date - Top Floor Boss, Miley Cyrus, Movie, Diamonds & Foreigns and more. There’s also a contender for one of the best rap interludes ever, Take A Pic, and the beautiful but unexpected Genshin Impact sample on ... read more

Little Simz - Sometimes I Might Be Introvert

This is a review from 18/04/2024

listened to this the day it came out, without any prior knowledge of who Little Simz was, and it was amazing, quickly becoming one of my favorites. I recently decided to listen to it from front to back, something that i haven't done since it dropped, but SIMBI has never left my rotation and it's one of my most listened albums ever, and despite this, it still sounds as fresh as the first time i heard it, sounding better the more I listen to it.
