Gen how did the people attending this not die after like 3 songs
I don't think i've ever laughed as hard while listening to a song as i did when i first heard this.
the reason why i always wait to do year end lists, HOLY SHIT.
YESSSSSSS YESSSSSSSSS.
If this album doesn't become a monumental pop staple when it drops there will be no words to contain my rage, there's some genuinely unbelievable shit on the way, i guarantee it.
Fascinating. It's a workout record done by someone who very clearly does not workout, and the fact that James Murphy said that this was tested on his own treadmill runs makes it even more hilarious to think about. The result is this frankly quite strange disco???? album that manages to stay interesting throughout it's long runtime, some sections here are among LCD's best work. Underrated but not essential.
April underscores cannot and will not EVER write a bad hook. My goat will never be washed
Genuinely humiliating. Almost self parody territory. A total and complete fall from grace from an artist that felt completely untouchable. For fans, "the life of a showgirl" felt like a betrayal of everything Taylor Swift stood for and what made her great , for haters this album was vindicating. Proof that she is always a complete hack of a songwriter and she's always been one.
However, to assess what makes TLOSG a disaster, we need to first acknowledge what made Taylor Swift ... read more
How fucking dare you. How DARE jack Amy winehouse's shtick while writing about "erm actually i'd actually be fine with being abused by my husband :3". Fuck you.
Who gives a shit about the fact that the song is mixed like shit, that the lyrics don't flow, the fact that she can't sing for shit in that awful amy impression or the fact that the video features uncensored sex that's only there to shock. The concept of the song itself is so morally reprehensible ... read more
PERFECT. Absolute lighting in a bottle. You know you get an all timer in your hands when both David Bowie and Joni Mitchell say they wish they wrote it, it's really just that perfectly constructed. THE feel good jam for the last 30 years, and likely until the end of times.
This shit sounds straght up submerged. It's like the dipped the fuckass 80s mic they recorded this one in cooking oil before recording and this is the result.
Shitass audio quality aside this is a pretty good bm record, the spooky atmosphere is there and ther's no real dull moments, even though certain lyrics can be real groaners. For instance, the 7th sogn here ends with a backwards audio that says "In god's name, let the churches burn" whichis just so obnoxiously and ... read more
One of the ugliest albums ever made, this thing was made to rip your ears enough and rile you up enough to stab the nearest suit and tie business man.
Steve Albini was a true visionary in alternative music, this brash unclean production style really makes this album sound incredibly angry and full of energy. I just know those opening notes of kerosene can set venues on FIRE, genuinely makes me wanna mosh in the middle of my room every time I hear it.
However, I find that the songs post ... read more
I think we beat black metal, there's just no way to go after this, the genre is over. Not only is this the best black metal album, it's one of the best metal albums ever made.
"I'm the white Obama"
I genuinely cannot believe this exists, or at the very least, wasn't dug up by this website as some sort of masterpiece of absolutely misconceived music.
The opening track to this record might actually have the world record for most bad choices made in a song ever, it's something that really needs to be heard to be believed, even now, weeks after I first heard this, I'm still in disbelief over how it was even allowed to be made let alone be ... read more
OLD SCORE>88
This is kinda shameful really, but i can't find anything particularly wrong with Weezer's debut, it's such a great time packed to the brim with fantastic hooks and just exuding teenage dorkiness and innocence.
This album is pure lightning in a bottle, it's genuinely unbelievable in a way that I can't describe. No album makes me feel like this does, it's so special because of the way it embraces the fact that this is straight up geek shit .
I ... read more
"Take me back to Eden" is nowhere near the musical war crime that it's follow-up is, it is, however, still plagued with the same exact problems that Sleep Token's music has.
Painfully overdramatic vocals that just sound like Sam Smith at points, bland rapping over even blander trap beats, nonsensical shallow writing featuring big words just to make them sound smart and overproduced djent metal riffs that even though don't feel as random and structureless as their last ... read more
